Previous dates when we couldn’t vote: June 20, November 22.
The government of Nepal today fixed April 10 (28 Chaitra) as the date for Constituent Assembly election. Polls will be held in a single phase. A meeting of the council of ministers this afternoon fixed the election date. A meeting of the top leaders of three big parties Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and CPN (M) held in Baluwatar in the morning had approved the date.
…. but our past experience with the CA election dates is bitter:
1. Thanks To Maoists, Constituent Assembly Election Postponed Again
2. Finally Constituent Assembly Election is Uncertain. Damn…
Once EC invited us to vote: Come One, Come All To Vote Your Destiny: Election Commission

There have not been elections for eight years, and traditional votting pattern have changed, The new generation does not care much for the Congress in what used be its vote bank. The only thing the party had going for it was a strong organisation and now Thakur’s party has potencial to damage that.

Add April 10 to the list.
Why election?
Girija, Madhav and Prachanda are the kingmakers in Nepal. They don’t like to be sidelined by the ordinary people.
People are disilusioned and it is hard to gauge the general mood.Unlike last years movement which was a spontaneous expression of historical angst, madhesis will think twice before joining in.
No major protest has taken place over the past year. What madhesis activists in mainstream parties do in next will be important.

The problem now is that none of the political parties are confident of acheiving the result they desire in the election. The consensus of all parties is that they will form the constitution through an elected constituent assembly so that before the preparation of manifesto there should be clear commitment between the political parties for durable peace, fundamental rights, a federal system of state and multinguistic and multi-cultural policy.

Knocked off Everest
==============
Sir Edmud Hillary has passed away at the age of 88.He was heroic figure who not only’ Knocked of Everest but lived a life of determination, humanity, and generosity.
The legendary mountaineer, adventurer and philanthropist is the best known Nepali ever to have lived.
Hillary’s life was marked by grand acheivement high adventure, discovery, excitement- yet he was humble to point that he only admitted being the first man a top Everest long after the daith of climbing companion Tenzing Norgay.
But he was more proud of his decades- long complain to set up schools and heath clinics in Nepal, the mount guide with whom he stood in arm on the sammit of Everest on may, 1953.

if the terrorist and the corrupt gang were serious about te constituent assembly then they wouldn’t have dug further into the scant resources of this country by appoint additional minsiters (including Giddey putri Sujata), replacing some dead and out tikey parliamentarians with more tikey parliamentarians and started to dish out one million ruppes to each other tikey sansads many of whom are even without a constituency. What a farce this SPAN is turning out to be. Will there be an election or not under this worthless government is a no-brainer– it will not and cannot happen. Sujata is a minister for the long run and why would her corrupt father want to cut that short by holding elections on time.
Law and order she says.
The election dates have been set previously as well. We will have to do the “wait and see” for what the politicians have up their sleeves for us.
hope we really have an election now.
Way to go now… hoping for a bright future 🙂
This is last opportunity to political leaders to porve themselves to be able to serve the nation. Show courage, fight against all obstacles. People is always with you guys…. !!!

This is going to be ethnically based election. Every ethnic groups try to send their representatives. Even in Kathmandu, newars give votes to newars only. Chhetri gives vote to chhetri only and bahun gives vote to bahun only. So, if Girija, Prachanda and Madhave even contest in Kathmandu, they are going to loose. The spam’s days are gone.
Still it is doubtful these three chatur will be ready to contest. Either contest or not, their autocratic and anarchy rules are going to end after April.
Happy new era without spam crooks.
Today’s mass rally of spam in Kathmandu is nothing more than copy of Pancha rally. Massive misuse of state fund, government forces, private vehicles are being used to make successful. But gives no result to them.
Over 100 still in Maoist captivity, says INSEC report
A report prepared by Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) – a human rights organisation – has revealed that there are over 100 people still in captivity of Maoists in Pyuthan, Salyan and Jajarkot districts.
The people have been kept in captivity in what the Maoists call as labor camps.
Addressing a press meet, on Sunday, INSEC president Subodh Pyakurel, said that the Maoists are not fully following the peace pacts.
The INSEC report also says that the people in captivity are being taught Maoist ideology. nepalnews.com sd Jan 14 08
