State Plays Dirty Game

Home Minister Kamal Thapa and the state is trying to prove that there is Maoists infiltration in the demonstrations. The state-own Nepal Television, Radio Nepal and Gorkhapatra are using the Maoists press release to prove their point.

NTV even interviewed four people who said they were Maoists and brought to Kathmandu for demonstration. The goverement claimed the Maoists even fired bullets in Kathmandu. But what about this? Do the state has any clarification on this news: ARMY INFILTRATES RALLY.

The news was published in today’s The Kathmandu Post:

By J Pandey

NEPALGUNJ, April 10 – A day after Home Minister Kamal Thapa claimed to have found evidence of rebel infiltration in the parties’ protests, OHCHR officials have found army infiltration in seven-party demonstration in Kohalpur, Banke on Monday.

A team led by OHCHR-Nepalgunj chief Andrew Mc Gregor found a soldier with a grenade at a rally. The team saw dozens of plainclothes soldiers with explosives from nearby RNA base infiltrating the mass demonstration.

Demonstrators identified the soldiers and informed the OHCHR team. The team asked them to show their pockets and bags. A soldier immediately showed a grenade which he concealed in the pocket of his shorts. After the team also asked him to show the concealed object in the next pocket, he went towards a group of armed security personnel and mingled among them.

  1. Army infiltration in the protest as maoist and trying to cause havoc is no suprise to me. Kamal Thapa’s rhetoric We know how crooked these royalist can be. But the big surprise is when will there be ARMY/POLICE MUTINY? NARA charkau janta ho so that these unconstitutional regime comes down on its knees

  2. Well! this was to happen. No wonder about this listening to the desperate puppet at the home ministry. But I am very happy to hear that the guys from Akhil are keeping the records of the police, army and others who commit crimes and brutality against the masses to punish them when freedom will come..Ths is just like people want….so let’s just keep on going…..till freedom is achieved….

  3. Kamal Thapa, who is the most opportunist politician in nepal’s history, can play the cheapest of the cheapest game to save his chair(kurshi). He has experience of dacoits and killing of people which he is using now to foil the people’s movement. This person should be hanged in tudikhel and then shot dead to move the nepalese politics into right direction.

  4. i agree to democratic republic.
KT should be hanged in tudhikhel and named as Anti-martyr then only we will be able to enjoy the Absolute democracy in nepal.

  5. KAMAL THAPA -TALA TOR Khappis (LOCK Breaker)
Now how many lock can you break.
Many offices are coming in support of Democracy movement.
    Corrupt, killer , chakribaj .
We will see you after democracy comes.

  6. Yes, Kamale is the gunda from Hetauda. He knows nothing else but the crooked ways to do things. He and his gundas beat up lot of andolakaris in the last jana andolan.

  7. ahhhhh….stupid Kamal Thapa.!!!!Why did he use those dumb army men to infiltrate the demonstrations? He could have instead bought some of those leaders and taken them to NTV.That would have been a better way. After all money is what those corrupt politicians want.Stupid Kamal Thapa!!

  8. Kamal tapha is an A-hole. He is Daka. He always apply ploy of Daka………………….. A big A-hole and hore of a chairman gynendra

  9. Shame on RNA, we call these bunch of idiots an “army”? They are not Nepalese army any way, they are criminals sent by the palace. Nepal has no army, we do not need army do we? Why do we need these illiterate ‘Boka’. They can not fight versus mighty China, they can not fight against Indian army, they can not even fight with Maoist kids, what are they good for? Ladies and Gentlemen Pin point the criminals, book them now and let people bring them into justice. Do not leave Mandaley-Kamal Thapa escape the justice like before. Come what may, no reconciliation, this time pleassse

  10. I dont know about this guy Kamal Thapa amd him trying to plant army men in the midst of the demonstratoirs. First of all calling a curfew was quite unnecessary. He should have let the demonstrations be carried out. If it got violent then he could use certain force to control it, and if it got out of control then he could call a curfew. I doubt it would have got out of hand if it was not Thapa’s agenda to crush it in the first place. After all he keeps reminding us that we live in a democracy. But I did hear from independent sources that the army did round up around 40 Maoists from the Koteshwor area. Any news on this?

  11. people see the cartoon from hindu………..How Nepalese Nero who needs to be tried in Next Nuremberg has been potrayed……..Nice Cartoon about Despots

  12. Kamal Thapa is playing all these tactics just to save his ass being kicked out from the chair that yields power to crush opponents. Regarding army, there are a bunch of high ranking army officials who order shooting and then later try to justify innocence by covering the reality. All the high ranking officials of the army are responsible for one or the other kind of violations. They instigate the revolution, provoke MBs, loot villages, rape innocent girls and before leaving the raping spot shoot them and leave few socket bombs to justify the killing in retaliation, and so on…the list goes on and on…The RNA is one of the most corrupt institution in Nepal.

  13. Manan,

Yes, I don’t think we need an army either. 135 children die of diseases every day, and we talk about the Maoists.

Think of it– 13,500 Nepalis have been killed in 10 years of fighting. 13,500 Nepali children will die in 3 months because of disease.

Does anyone think we’ve got our priorities backward?

  14. The RNA is an instituion that needs to go through some severe reforms. However, I disagree with this Sleek guy in that yes we do need an army.
The army needs to be under civilian control and there needs to be more institutional transparency. Right now the RNA is an opaque institution that is a playground for the Rana/Shah aristocracy.

The new recruits are not trained or educated at all. They need to be aware of human rights issues and they need better training and education…

  15. The infiltration of Monarchial army in popular movement is just a last tactic of King Gyanendra to glue in power. This king is responsible for killing 13,000 nepalis who voiced for basic human rights. He must be punished according to international law for his crime against Nepalis. Rank and File of Royal Army who are supporting all types of inhuman killings must be punished as well. The person whoever supports Royal Army will be regarded as anti-people, inhuman and undemocratic at the present context in the history. So, if you are democratic and peace loving Nepali, be careful and put yourself in the side of Nepali people who are fighting for their basic human rights, own sovereinty and peaceful Nepal. Best of Luck
