The Meeting & Talking

The Seven Party Allinace Meeting

Nepal’s pro-democracy alliance of seven political parties meets and decides new programs of agitation against autocracy of king Gyanendra. But the question is, Will the Alliance be successful to bring democracy back this time?

It has been almost proved that King Gyanendra is not giving any attention whatsoever to them. Instead he keeps them blasting off in occasional messages that he gives out to the nation. The movement against autocracy, the fight for democracy, it seems, hasn’t gained any momentum. People are about to forget the fact that parties are launching a mass movement against King Gyanendra’s autocracy. After recent comments from the American Ambassador about parties’ 12-point-agreement with the Maoists, the alliance of seven political parties is now in defensive mood. Possible ‘traitors’ like Sher Bahadur Deuba are also raising their voices against the agreement in one excuse or the other.

The Seven Party Allinace Meeting

In this context, leaders of the alliance met today in the residence of Girija Prasad Koirala, senior most leader and president of Nepali Congress. (Yes, Deuba was there representing his breakaway faction-the Nepali Congress Democratic.) What did they talk? Well of course about the need to intensify the movement for democracy. That is why they decided to launch, yet again, protests programs around the country targeting the royal autocratic government from April 8 (Chaitra 26 or the Janaandolan Day). They also requested the Maoists to withdraw the rebel’s indefinite blockade that is scheduled to begin from March 14. Rebels are also calling for general strike (Nepal Bandh) from April 3.

  1. With Deuba in the picture, how can these idiots have an Andolan? When will they understand that Deuba has been let loose to sabotage the democratic alliance?

  4. if only these parties reformed themslves and admit their past failures and make some concrete plans for the future. the parties are so desperate since nobody takes them seriously anymore – but unfortunetly they are the only resistance against a monarch that seems more opressive by the day.

  5. Seven parties should give what are their reforms they would introduce after they come to power. Otherwise meetong after meetings over Samosa and tea will not solve problems. Many people have already lost their lives. They must ask the Maoists whether they renounce the violence, killings, and abduction and extortion. They also must stop destroying the precious infrastructures. These infrastructures were built by the sweat and blood of the Nepali people. It seems that they do not have any political ideology but only killing poor and destroying the country. If Prachanda and Baburam have any common sense, they should stop all these crimes. Otherwise, tthey can be brought to international courts.

  6. Dear United We Blog,
YOU CANNOT BE EXPECTED TO CALL YOURSELF UNITED WE BLOG FOR A DEMOCRATIC NEPAL, WHEN YOU KEEP ON GLORIFYING THE GREATNESS OF GIRIJA PRASAD KOIRLA, WHILE CALL SHER BAHADUR DEUBA A “POSSIBLE TRAITOR”. IF SHER BAHADUR IS TRAITOR THEN YOU SHOULD CALL GIRIJA PRASAD KOIRALA AND MAN MOHAD ADHIKARI AS TRAITORS AS WELL AS THEY BOTH RECOMMENDED FOR DISSOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT.

POPULARITY OF YOUR BLOGSITE WILL DECREASE IF YOU JUST KEEP ACTING LIKE MOUTH-PIECE OF NEPALI CONGRESS.

BE FAIR AND UNBIASED. NEPAL IS AT A TERRIBLE STATE NOW BECAUSE OF “TRUMPET BLOWERS” LIKE GIRIJA PRASAD KOIRALA DUE TO WHICH EVEN PARTY LIKE NEPALI CONGRESS BROKE UP.

WHOEVER WROTE THIS PIECE IS TRYING TO “ACT MORE KOIRALA-BADI THAN KOIRALAS THEMSELVES”.

UNITED WE BLOG IS ITSELF ACTING AS A TRAITOR IN THE NAME OF DEMOCRACY. ISNT THERE ANYTHING CALLED UNBIASED BLOGGING MORALITY IN YOUR OBJECTIVE?

  7. Just curious, why is Girija Prasad Koirala staring at that camerawoman?

Jokes aside my expectations from democratic forces are:
    –Commitment to pluraristic, egalitaric democracy
–No compromises with autocratic powers of King
–No compromises with potential conspiratory motives of Maoists.

Given a full-commitment to these I won’t argue much about the methodologies they may devise.

  8. just meetings .. nothing more can 86 years old politicians can do.
And look at our stupidity, we have expectations from such ppl…..
UWB, its time to show & write something useful , instead of scraping everything from kantipur.

What happened to pics from PKR, Illam…,
ohooo i forgot why would u ppl post such pics ….
kantipur itself is being run by MAOS !!!

  9. hey,
These are pro of Politcal scenario of nepal and tehy are playing their games. And we thought that they are doing for us.I can’t believe that they are the people that magzine such as kantipur, himal write about Lauda air, China airlines and many related corruption issues and treaties.

Let suppose that parties and maoist came at a situation where king have to exile then can any body tell who will run the country.

1> Mr. Koirala, ohhh no ,is the PM when KG became King after june 1st and KG’s favourite politician
2>Mr. Nepal, whose party is participated the last Goverment run by KG and He favour KG any way
3> Mr. Deuba, Upcoming PM (4th time, i think)
4>Mr. Prachanda, first tell me him accept He had relation with King Birendra to start this maoism propoganda
5>India, all we say about it is ‘Dhoti, can’t be’
6>USA, helloooo do we have oil mine, never heard!!!

    coool guy

  10. A lot of people have been killed since king took over. The Andolan has become louzy – what’s the matter ? They were thinking of toppling the King in the Chaitra end so that we can start a new Nepal in 2063. The andolan has become hopeless. You should drink some brandy and liquor to warm up you guys. Common guys!!!

  11. The Seven Party Alliance, alone will never restore democracy in Nepal. If it were, we wouldn’t have wasted 3 years of our time being misruled by Shah-Rana clan.

They really have NO choice to stick to their 12-Points aggreement with the Maoists to establish a true democracy in the country.

  12. “They really have NO choice to stick to their 12-Points aggreement with the Maoists to establish a true democracy in the country.” They have a choice. They can form an alternative government and call upon the people not to pay taxes. They can ask civil servant and police not to obey the illegitimate (declared so by Supreme Court) government’s order. They can ask friendly countries to recognise the people’s government. But they need courage to do all that. Sadly, Koiralabaje lacks courage, Madhavbaje has no guts, and Deuba is a strawman. Bad lack folks.

  13. Hey coke,

Should we superimposed your picture on the background. Your picture with them would be aided pleasure for our eyes. Birds of same feather flock together 😉

  15. Hey guys !! I hope, I need to remind you something. You are suggesting to UWB! I hope you are repeating same mistake. You must know that Primarily, Kantipur is bought by Girija but after 12 statements agreements he sold it to Praxchanda. And UWB is the elder son of Kantipur…..
Guys …. wake up…. why are you wasting your time for sussesting them? They are never going to be fair for Civil people.

No wonder, if someday, KG bought the Kantipur from Prachanda and it might start a fresh day by the pray of Tulsi Giri….

  16. I am extremely disappointed with the progress report of 7 party alliance. Its been a year since they came together and they have achieved almost nothing. It is shameful that leaders still indulge in cheap politicking. The real showdown is between Maoists and Palace and people of this country seem to have no voice. Politicians have failed us yet again. Maybe Nepal is still not ready for Democracy.

  17. Absolutely right. I think they would talk about who would be the next prime minister and which posh Ministry goes to whom-sort of things after a couple of days. these people never thought of real problems of the people. Thats why there is no encouraging no. of people in their demonstrations.

The country is in mess primarily by the acts of these people. Girija and makune should announce that they have taken sanyas from the politics. Girirja is trying to handover the power to koirala clan, like shishil, sujata, shekhar, shashank etc before going to hell.

  18. A comment about the picture!

I am really glad to see a female cameraman. Its awesome. Jhandai love pareko…lol….Anyway Wagle ji, convey my regards to her. I am proud of her.

I hate these politicians. They are the root causes of all the problems in Nepal. They began all this mess and now they are trying to be clean. I wish we could force them to go to the people and apologize for all their misdeeds and promise to reform themselves. Hypocrites!!!

  19. is girija smoking surya churoot? (in the table). if he is, iw onder if he knows that surya tobacco is owned by king-G and he is cotributing to king-G’s coffers. irony, no?

  20. Lalupate is right. Most of educated Nepali are fatalist and callous. All the time they think for themselves. No one helps the poor. Being poor is biggest curse in this society.

All the NGOs who are peddling the propaganda against the Govt. also fall in this category. They are earning dollars from foreign agents to speak against the King and his Govt. They are selling thier soul.

I would hold my breath for Maoist rescuing the down-trodden and underdogs, after all they are also in this GAME for themselves – for easy looted and extorted money. They are more corrupt than the Panche, Mandale during panchayat era and no less corrupt than Wagle, Gacchedar, Joshi and Khanal and Sujata. Maoists have stabbed the country in its back and they are biggest traitors of Nepal.

  21. “Its been a year since they came together and they have achieved almost nothing.”

This is THE biggest problem. Until the parties bring in fresh faces and make internal reforms we will not see any change or improvement in Nepal’s situation.

  22. The Darbaria coke became french vanilla diet coke.
How much do they pay you?
Darbar puja got you scholarship in France or Belgium…?
The honest leaders in the meeting will pass a resolution that no more Durbaria coke around the United Blog!

  23. The Seven Parties Alliance failed in their mission to ‘restore’ democracy through peaceful uprising primarily because of their inability to garner trust and support from the urban population. This was due to :
    * their misrule, curruption and nepotism while they were in power
    * lack of ideological stance in defining the Maoists uprising
    * poor and often contradictory visions to solve Maoist’s Uprising
    * opportunitism and parasitism in the leadership

Seven Parties Alliance should make us clear what they mean by
    “RESTORATION OF DEMOCRACY”
    * Is it the reinstatement of Deuba Government?
    * Is it the reinstatement of the Parliament?
And if thats what they want then they very tell us how its going to address the present crisis!
Otherwise they better stop confusing us with their Fcuking “Restoration of Democracy” cliche !

Gear up for new Nepal! Democratic Republic of Nepal!!

  24. UWB Note: We deleted original message here because we only use English and Nepali languages in this website for now. Yes, we have plans to bring the French, German, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic and (there are many other languages on the list) version of UWB in future.

  25. Dear IndianCoke
You hit the nail. I learned french when i was in Argentina. My scholarship was on behalf of the Indian government. Bande Mataram!
I was doing a research on “Cross Layer Design on Wireless Comm”. I stayed in Argentina for 8 months for a Post-Doc degree. i successfully completed my job and also learned french. Now i speak 8 languages including Spanish(learned automatically while in Argentia) and Italian little bit.
Mais c’est pas bien mes amies de l’effacer.
    Liberte, Egalite and Faternite!

  26. TO UWB
HINDI makes sense for UWB. Considering your deep love to hindi speaking men.
But i am confused with chinese, arabic and german could you calrify dear UWB.
    French would be great!

  27. People should be allowed to post messages in any language as long as the script is there. I have seen posts written in Hindi in the roman alphabet. The UWB team does not remove that. I think you have made a target of Coke the person with the gift of many languages.
I can understand the UWB team, if you say we dont understand any other language but Nepali, English and Hindi, so we cannot edit any “foul play”, but in the same breath how many of us here understand these languages anyway? But if you plan to include all those other languages as you say, you had better get started.

  28. What people will get when Deuba will be in the helm of government?

Another corruption episode like parliament members trading, abducting MP to Bankok or presenting peoples’ democratic rights to the royal family and their courtiers. He is a blot in Nepalese politics. And Moriarty, Deuba’s dharma sasurs, is trying to raise Deuba above all poticla leaders. God bless the poeple !

  29. Durbar/ Argentina Coke

–coke is a american company–you are american spy + Durbar typist.
—The Rastradabi Indians fight against the Nepal Durbar and America.
In December, 2005, over 1,500 villagers marched to shut down Coca-Cola’s bottling plant in Kala Dera in Rajasthan, India, accusing the company of depleting water and polluting the water and soil. The major protest in Rajasthan comes less than two weeks after another major rally – this time in Mehdiganj in Uttar Pradesh – demanding that the plant shut down. These are just two examples. There are many places in India where we are doing this.
—We Indians will continue our fight against coke and the like, including you and Deuba, people sold and bought on a bottle of Durbaria coke.
—Our dear leaders are not like you foreigner. They are honest and they do not get paid by India, US, or Durbar.
You do not live in Nepal but you are looking for another chance-in-dance to grab more money and power. Just shut up, Durbaria BIDESHI BHAI !
—Look at your post-doc degree and your Buddhi ! Shame on Durbar puja that provided your unqualified Buddhi an undeserved schlorship !!!

  30. I don’t recommend posts in languages other than English and Nepali. This is a Nepalese blog so we should allow Nepali. English is the global language, so this warrants its place.
As someone else said earlier, it is difficult to edit languages which are not understood by the editor’s team. Moreover, how many people understand those languages anyway? May be a couple of us know French and Spanish. But, what about other languages? In addition, what are you trying to say by writing in those languages?
You need not boast about those languages. Use that in your workplace. I hope you are not trying to say that your nepali or english is worse than those languages. This is a pseudo-psychology people have. They think they are great when they write in languages most people do not understand. But, the point is, if you have a good point, effective communication comes from writing in a language which is understood by most of the people.
So, unless you are blabbering in a childish fashion, I do not see the relevance of a blog in other languages at least in this site.

  31. Hey Guys,
Look at the bunch of old people trying to solve the country’s problem. The same people who miserably failed to avoid this situation from 1990 to 2002. They have already proved their expertise in sucking out the country’s treasure into their pocket and incompetence in realizing the Nepali people’s real problem.
How can they again say that give the democracy and we will solve the maoist problem and save the country when they failed to do so when they had one. Once again if the democracy is given to them then they will take it is “Bander ko hath ma naribal” tosssing it among themselves and sucking the juice out of it. If given to them they will only know how to exercise the 1 right provided by the Democracy “The next day you are thrown out of the ministerial position go to streets to protest against the government”.

It doesnot mean that I am favour of the king. One thing we need from the political parties is a new fresh face that can lead the country and the oldies giving the guide lines. Until and unless Girija gives us his stale old desire to become prime minister, same for Makune and others I don’t see why again they should be given the power to handle the country.

Why is Kantipur saying that Deuba is a traitor? Has the 12 point agreement followed by maoist? They are still killing civilians, even killing the party cadres. 12 point is just a point the maoist and political parties have found out recetly to brag about nothing more then that.

Who is that indian dhoti coke?? Who is he or she or may be both to say something about Nepal?? Shut up and don’t write crap on such an importan t issue.

  32. Bibas said “But, the point is, if you have a good point, effective communication comes from writing in a language which is understood by most of the people.”

If that is the requirement, care to explain why you ruled out Hindi from the list of languages that “should” be allowed on this blog?

  33. Deuba is among the people who messed up with our nation. So, there is no harm in calling him a traitor. Lets add the names of other politicians who were in power during the past decade in the same list. Then it will be fair to him. He is not the only one.

  34. I have been always saying that Deube is robot in Daura Suruwal. He is the worst than the people like Nagendra Prasad Rizal, Marichman and Lokendra. He returned the democracy to the King being intoxicated by some pegs of whisky given by the King at the palalce. He dissolved the parliament of 205 memebers even without consulting his senior cabinet members. Thats why Ram Sharan caught his neck at Indian Embassy dinner. He was thinking that he is related to the King by his wife’s side. Actually, he is half educated Gaunle from Dhandeldhura. Some people are behind him because they can make fool out of him and earn money.

That is enough of him. I don’t know why US supports him. May be becuase they need this sort of fella.

Regarding, Girija, everybody knows him. He was the architect of failure of democracy in Nepal. He is the father of corruption in Nepal. He made the commission system working in Nepal from top to the village grass roots level. Even we have elections, his party will have majority. He has the network which evenly distributes corruption money all over the country. Then again, Nepalese will have to suffer. Sujata has already opened her mouth which can swallow Boeing 747.

Can you tell me guys, who can be a great leader who can really take out Nepal from this mess ?

  35. 1. Kantipur is in a great loss.

    2. The sales of Kantipur has gone down (less than 30,000) as himalayan times came in the Nepali media market.

    3. Kathmandu Post is worst daily printed in English with sales less than 4000.

    4. By funding in Kantipur TV they really made a big mistake, no revenue as yet.

What will KP do in these circumstances?
To run such a huge media org. you need money, Where is the money comin from?
Is this suffucuent to explain the line KP has chosen recently?

  36. Mr. Palace,
himalayan times is run by communists. they are also your Durbaria bhai bhardar. your bhardars have looted money and buy communist newzpapers.

did you buy the degree in bihar intermediate college?
your Post-Doc 8-bhase buddhi is rotten, kuheko anda justo chha

  37. Wow,
Now this coke is a stupid guy from the underground. He has no idea what is going on in the surface.
Kantipur sales are less than 30,000? Dude, are you dreaming?
I guess Himalayan times is better than Kathmandu post in terms of fancy stuff but Kantipur is almost like a monopoly in the nepali media when it comes to a nepali language daily. So, keep your dreams for yourself, dreamer….
Why can’t you talk with facts rather than fantasizing the facts? …

  38. Dear Mr Indian Coke and Mr Bibas.

I did my bachelors degree in Saharsha District in Bihar. Name of my university Bishwa Bihari Hindu Biswabidhyala. that’all.

cool at least i started a debate: which one is better HT or KP?

KP sales is less than 30,000, I bet this is true.

So seems you guys accept figure for Kathmandu Post. ok i am happy.

  39. bihar degree is useless, you corrupt face
all day you think…kp or ht?..how much sales up or down?
that much Bishwa Bihari Hindu Biswabidhyala taught you?
kp sales 30,000 down? how did you count, Gyane ko guu, in Belgium?

  40. There should be three point agreements between three mistakers that is peace, democracy and prosperity….that is all we want…

  41. where do they get the money to sustain? that’s another topic of which I have no idea

  42. Hawkeye is asking a very good question?
Not just the maoists but the big media houses in Nepal are also being run by money coming from outside.
I always wander how could these media houses stop covering news related to territorial encroachment and unequal treaties between india and nepal and other development issues.
These issues are certianly left intentionally when we the people started fighting for issues such as a republic or continuation of the monarchy.
This is where india is winning.
And we can guess where is the money coming from.

  43. hawkeye n palace coke,
the money comes from the palace, from people’s tax money
    Gyane’s coke, your post-doc buddhi
no cia, or dead kgb, to fund like in afghanistan, iran, iraq, ect
india wins without giving money to kp
    jai hindustan, jai nepal

  44. Durbar ko Coke,
why do u acting like u care for nepal democracy?

why do not u say jai Gyane baa, jai palace every time you write?

when you do jiu jiu to durbar, u are shitin on nepal democracy, turdy mind
durbar bhardar should be banned from uwb

  45. To Jai ma bharat
loosign yur mind see a doc. give me your acount no i’ll sned you some money for a thorough check-up.
