Amid escalating uncertainties regarding the extension of Constituent Assembly (CA)’s term, Former King Gyanendra Shah has proposed the revival of monarchy in the nation.
It is learnt that Shah, in a dinner meeting convened with Alok Joshi, official of an Indian intelligence agency, said that assistance will be sought from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N), among other parties, to revive monarchy in one form or the other, provided that the CA’s term is not extended in the nation, according to eKantipur.
Parties rooting for monarchy will initiate protests within a few days if the CA is dissolved, sources close to the former king informed.
Here’s a report, in Nepali, by Sarojraj Adhikari in Thursday’s Kantipur daily about Research and Analysis Wing’s officer Alok Joshi’s activities in Kathmandu in the past week:

It has already been proved that the proud sovereign nation,Nepal, could not be possible possible to sole rule by these visionless and puppet minded so called leaders. The five years time since so called people’s second movement and three years period of constituent assembly have already shown that country could not only leave to these immatured,power-hunger and selfish politicians.Allowing current political impasse in the hand of moneky alike leaders would neither lead to country in a united and democratic way nor national unity and democratic development could take it’s usual and natural course. To accept only these corrupt leaders is tentamount to destroy country through inviting full-fledged civil war and complete external intervention. So,constitutional monarchy or say crowned
republic is the only savor of the independent nation and it’s continual democratice exercises.Power to people’s elected representatives and dignity with due honour to crown with role of guardian is the only best and sustainable alternative remaines to save this great nation. That’s why following the path of Indonesia to readopt forced replace constitution of 1990 and having necessary necessary reform and amendment to the same to meet challenges and demand currently in surface is the best thing to at this very critical.Jay Nepal !
King did not bend to Indian demands so gave up his crown as a sacrifice rather than be what we see today of “leaders” of all colors. News bits and salacious reporting are reflection of state of Nepal. There exists non who has moral, ethical or sense of pride. Nepal is Nepal no more. We are a deprived nation from within so we put a blame on someone else- to hide.
The drama of constitutional assembly is a farce. No extension with any pledge will bring this nation up from abyss it has dug itself from. The last option that remain is Referendum.
I must add that I cannot bear to see the pseudo intellectuals like Dixits, Pandey and pahari- these dudes should be made outcast. They have done more harm than anyone with their cheap logic and persona of talking head with back pocket filled dollars
Thanks Janardhan for your very realistic and thoughtful expression.Pls allow me in joying with your voice and would further like to appeal all nationalist democrats who love Nepal to have strong voices against these dirty drama playing by looters in Nepal.Jay Nepal !
