This man carries an envious history and record with him and he is sick these days. This time, it seems, seriously. Reports suggest Girija Prasad Koirala is fighting death and the main weapon this time is his willpower to live. A man with strong leadership and organizational skills, Koirala is not an immortal. Neither he is a flawless person. What he is, without any dispute, is the single most important personality in Nepali politics today who towers everyone else. He commands the moral and organizational authority that can make or break the politics. Call it a selfish demand but life of Girija Prasad Koirala is necessary for Neapli democracy today. Yes, we are no fans of Koirala but we believe so. He could be and is the strongest defender of democracy in Nepal.

With that note, we present here media reports on Koirala’s heath:

Discharged from hospital
Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala was discharged from Sahid Gangalal National Heart Center, Bansbari, on Wednesday (yesterday). He has been taken to his daughter Sujata´s residence at Mandikhatar. Koirala, who has long been suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after his condition deteriorated. Doctors advised his family members to take him home after Koirala insisted on that. Earlier, doctors had said that Koirala could be taken home after his hemoglobin level reaches above 10 gram in his blood. Koirala’s health condition is now ‘stable’, according to doctors involved in his treatment. A team of four physicians — Dr Man Bahadur KC, Dr Arjun Karki, Dr Jagadish Agrawal and Dr Arun Maskey — was involved in his treatment. Doctors said Koirala will still need to be given antibiotics for seven to 10 days. He will also need additional oxygen support for 16 to 24 hours a day. He was on oxygen support when he was taken out of the hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

KATHMANDU, Mar 10: Doctors have put Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala under oxygen around the clock at his residence at Maharajgunj after his illness worsened in recent days. Until recently, he used to be put on oxygen five to seven hours a day.

“He is becoming weaker every day,” said Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula, who meets Koirala almost daily including yesterday (9 Mar). “Koirala´s doctors are meeting on Wednesday morning to decide whether he should be taken abroad for treatment again,” said Sitaula. “We have concluded that Koirala should be taken at least to India, if it is not possible to take him to Singapore again.”

Koirala was taken to Singapore in an air ambulance when he fell seriously ill last November. He had received treatment at Gleneagles Hospital, a 380-bed private tertiary acute care hospital in Singapore, from November 14 to 22, 2009. A team of doctors from the hospital had even visited Nepal for follow-up treatment for Koirala recently.

On Tuesday (9 Mar), Acting President of the Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala called Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala, who is currently on a tour of Europe, to inform her about the deteriorating condition of her father and asked her to return home as early as possible. “She has cut short her visit and is arriving most likely on Wednesday evening or by Thursday at the latest in view of her father´s condition,” Sitaula said. The deputy prime minister was originally scheduled to return home on March 14.

Nepali Congress leader Laxman Prasad Ghimire said that Koirala has had to take oxygen even during meetings with party leaders in recent days.

What a load of bullcrap. Neither GPK or the author seem to know what democracy is. So how is he a democracy spokesman and defender? He just gives it lip service and is in fact a complete dictator. No democracy needs one person to be so important for it – it needs all people and many leaders to support it. The very fact that he portrays and the author portrays his importance for democracy proves how long this man has been holding democracy hostage same as Prachanda talking of democratising the army and the nation and its downtrodden people when he too is nothing but a dictator.

Well some questions about serving the nation have been raised…

Martyrs and heroes? There are many subliminal messages 1. money is bad, 2. power is not good, 3. sacrifice is crazy.

Why he doesn’t have some privacy in his time? This is the point in any self respecting nation, town and political party living and dying can best be done off stage.
But great business and showman is showman.

Death of this monster is a good news for nepali nationals who love nepal and bad news for indian expansionist who put koirala as their representative in nepal. he ruined that country with the aim to make nepal one of the federal states of india. he should have been dead 10 years ago. that would have saved nepal. he died without fullfilling his aim officially declaring nepal as part of india. this india born man was the real slave of india. he was the corruptest prime minister of nepal. he was considered to be richest man in nepal now. he died but left all his wealth here.

lets not praise him for he is the one who brought this ruin to this nation. History will not be kind to him for he never had a interest of a nation except his own and his hangers on.

This nation always seem to have a knack for misplaced priorities and mis read of a personality. No wonder we have jokers of leaders, sleaze bags of Dixits, pandeys and Pahadis, and political activits who see nothing wrong on submitting false allowance bill. Yeah, all in the name of People.

Those who are accusing and maligning GP Koirala.. Idiots.. if you are so worried about your country and people why you are not doing anything to them? You love yourself more than anything else that’s why. Given the opportunities, you will love to migrate to a third country (or you might be already there) and from the security provided by the distance you malign people.. judge them and write about them in your low-grade language.. At least GP Koirala fought for others.. fought for your freedom..because of that you could degrade his achievement in blogs like this…is it your jealousy that he did so much to the country or your impotency that you couldn’t do anything to your life that you are speaking? What are you trying to say..? Those thousands and thousands of people in the streets are proof that he was great… how many people will care if you die?

Sometimes if your intentions are evil like GPK’s (i.e. thinking only of his own ambitions and running the nation like hw owns it) – then it is better not to SERVE the nation. He would have better SERVED the nation if he was a clerk – atleast that way we could have avoided the situation that we are in. All he fought for was his own ego and his own ambitions. Besides he just rode his brothers coat tail. He fought for nothing – selfish GPK. And who says hard workin g everyday people are not doing anything for the nation – they are working buddy working – something GPK had no inkling about – real hard work to run the national machine. Again no thanks to inept leaders who create more of a mess when they leave then when they first enter, No thank you. I thank the rickshaw wallah more – at least he shows us an honest days work. That’s what “BEING NEPALI” meant in the days before GPK – An honest days work. So who’s the idiot?

As for how many really will care for me when I die – well probably just my family – but at least it’s genuine – not a bloody mass fiasco, a charade. A mass that loves the circus clown – that’s all that it was. A parade for the popular clown. Give us Nepalis a day off we’ll attend any funeral. Hell theres nothing better to do after GPK ruined this country.
But the majority are not laughing my friend – we’re deadly serious.
