District administrations in various central and eastern Terai towns clamped fresh curfew orders today with the Terai unrest showing no sign of receding in the region for the 20th day running. The District Administration Office (DAO) Birgunj issued a day curfew today effective from 8am to 8pm while the DAO Sarlahi clamped a curfew from 7:30am to 8pm in various places across the district. Likewise, Biratnagar saw a fresh curfew order from 9 in the morning to 5 in the evening, issued today. In Sunsari the district administration allowed a five-hour respite from the indefinite curfew clamped there, easing life in Inaruwa where locals came out of the homes to purchase daily necessities between 5am to 10am today. A protester of Madheshi People’s Rights Forum (MPRF), namely Dipendra Sahin Parsa 40, of Madhuwan Mathwal VDC-9 was killed and 20 others injured yesterday during clashes with police in Birgunj. Four of the seriously injured were airlifted to Kathmandu by an army chopper and admitted to the Bir Hospital for treatment, according to the Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations. Maoist affiliated Madhesi National Liberation Front and Nepali Congress (Democratic) organized separate protest programs to show their solidarity with Madhesi demands. Birgunj remained tense throughout Saturday (3 Feb). Around 30 demonstrators were injured and two died. Demonstrators claimed that Armed Police fired bullets upon them. Sanjay Gupta was seriously injured after a bullet hit him on neck. It has been revealed that Gupta is an Indian and was taking part in the demonstrations. Why the hell Girija and SPAM are not ready to give Federal
structure and proportional representation. These are pillars of
democracy. Any sane people will support these demand
be it Madhesi or Pahade or Limbu.
I am sure there is no alternative left and they have to yield.
The more they delay more the country suffer.
Needless to say they may even have to face the charge of suppresion.
Yes, Yes, Yes. Now you finally got the truth. What is this Indian citizen doing in the riots? Why did the government allow the Indian Consul office in Birgunj? These Indians are the ones who are instigating violence in the terai. They want to annex Nepal like they annexed Sikkim. But they will NEVER be successful. They will meet their Sri Lanka in Nepal.
it’s not good.
Move the capital to Surkhet from Kathmandu.
Proportionate reservation – giving extra advantage to the previously disadvatged – in all arena of governance, cabinet, parliament, education and research, army, police, all state jobs, foreign diplomatic service, investment, etc, etc.

i don’t know why th Madhesh violence is taking the path of extremism- the chalkhel and mismotive of Darbariyaz will certainly spoil this nation. Just imagine, if GPK passes, who else can take him over????? Nation is about to merge in a hell… a damn hell.
we all must learn from the saying of JULIUS CAESAR:
A brave dies once in life but a coward dies each and every moment thinking the eternal death. Death. Death. Its our truth…so, why violence. GPK, Gyanendre. Prachande, we all should extinct… WHY VIOLENCE AND TROUBLE OUR FUTURE GEN as well????????????????????????????????????????????
Time to move the nepal army to terai, before the country disintegrates
this is nothing but some unwanted force trying to disrupt the democracy in nepal.
someone is paying the leaders so as to lead the common “madhesi” people to come to the streets.
the people going to the street should analyze what the end result of this all violence.
Time for Home Minister Sitaula ro resign, but not to appoint Sujata Koirala. If Sujata Koirala make Home Minister then it will be considered that royalist win the infiltrations in the Madhesi protests. Remember Sujata Koirala is a staunt royalist.
Royal palace is trying to buy many politicians in NC and other parties. This Madheshi movement can regress the democratic process. If that is the intention of MJF then democracy is over. The demand for the federal governance system is fake attempt of Madheshi protest.
If it is a genuine protest for the good of the nation – federal governance system and proportionational representation systems is the way to go for Nepal – then Sujata Koiral must not be appointed to the post of Hime Minister of Nepal.
Rather the Interim Government should be formed as soon as possible.
When Indians died during April revolution..it was Ok. When girija, Prachanda and makune sign 12 bunde in delhi it was OK…..when tribhuvan escaped to delhi it was OK…..but now its very disgusting for you guys when an Indian died for madhesi movement ……its ” Indian infiltration” for mr. wagle…….I never imagined double stamdard of this magnitude……Don’t preach madhesi about how to conduct andolan…..you communal thugs. Jay madhesh
Jay Madesh!!
Down With Girija!
Down with Prachandra!
Down with Nepali Congress!!
Nepali Congress are bunch of
Gundas and thiefs hired by the curprit called Girija!!
Jay Madesh!
I solute the Madesh!
Jai Nepal!
Madheshi has to understand that in Federal Governance system all population are included and proportional electoral system means all the population Madheshi or Pahadi. If Madheshi have dreamed of separate autonomous region of their own on the soil of Nepal exclusive of all other population then that will be unfortunate.
Remind to your Madheshi leaders.
After all Federal govenance and the proportional electoral system is good for Nepal and Nepali people of all ethnic communities.
Understand this:
In Federal governance system: The centeral or Federal government has power over national security, national policy making and foreign relations.
All the federation or unioun of the federal governance system will have to comply with the Federal National Policies and to the constitution of the nation.
Get this right there is no so called self-governance or autonomous region in Federal governance system.
You cannot make up this provision because you want to rule Tarai execlusively and make other Nepali nationals refugees.
That will be unfortunate. Rest of Nepali people will fight against Madhesi if Madhesi leaders of MJF and MTTM have dreamed of such autonomous region.
Get that right from the beginning if not ………………………….
Remember in Federal governance system there are governments with in the governments.
It has structural system of the governments. Here is the map:
Federal Government——(National Security, Foreign Relations & National Policy making)
|
|
Regional or State Government———(All regional development and admins)
|
|
District or County or City Governmentm (Dev & Admin)
There is no autonomous or self-governance power here for the certain group of poeple of the ethnic group. But all federal unioun members have to comply to the national policies, national security and foreign relations with the Federal Government.
Get this right if not you Madhesi will make a mess in Nepal.
The kind of deliberate targeting of certain group of people in vandalizing their properties by the Forum and JTMM will eventually backfire on them. There is a limit to this overt thuggery! Just beware – the other parties are also equally capable of violence.
Remember: violence breeds violence.
I tend to agree with Mr. Rakesh. This headline above is highly inappropriate. There are many Madeshi who have famlies on the other side of the border. Furthermore, many families might be Indian citizens but reside on the Nepal side of the border. Mr. Wagle, in typical form, attempts to skew reality rather irresponsibly. As it is communal tensions are running high – there is no need to add fule to the fire.
????????:
I guess the Maoists are saying the same thing.
Bhudai
To whom can you please elaboate?
Wagle has always been a good for nothing. I have said it before and I will say it again – this guy says he’s democratic but can only see to the tip of his baun nose – tha’t it. Writes according to his prejudices. Very few opposed him when it came to republican tones, but now we can see the problem is far more serious then having a royal regime for a year. I would vouch that be it the King or a PM, they would have faced the same fate sooner rather thatn later. Gyane just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. For p[eople who think that he could have done this and that – you’re dreaming. As days pass we are realising how deep rooted the rot of the decade of violence perpetrated by the maoists has become. The maoists gave a huge blow to democracy. If we could have continued at the pace og 1995, put our heads down and got to work we would be a different nation. The maoists thought that can have their cake and eat it too – unfortunately the cake is made up of too many ingredients – some suitable for some to eat and not for others. Prachanda has lost his thunder – the terai has stolen it from him and exposed him as nothing but another power hungry Brahmin, too ashamed to cahnge his name back to his Brahmin roots but not ashamed enough to face realities – governing is a different ball game to destrotying comrade. We can all be wrathful destroyers, creation takes a completely different breed of individual.
The moment has come to lay charges against Prachanda and Baburam for if nothing else the murder of the innocents including babies in Magdi, Chitwan. Along with the supressors of the janandolan in April and the Terai andolan now, the duo who have already admitted responsibility and called the Chitwan murders a mistake, must be locked up. Then this country has half a chance.
In the meantime, Wagle should wake up and take a long hard look in the mirror distorted as it may be.
Who controls the police–the Home Minister or the king. Why are police killing innocent Madises?
Why is pahade media distorting facts? Why the civil society is so biased agaisnt madises?
OK Here is a question for so called agragami people and you too Mr. Wagle.
Yesterday you people asked the justice for 19 people who died in a andolan that was clearly “infiltrated” by the Maoists. Justice against a dude called Kamal Thapa and everybody in that cabinet.
Today, almost 19 people are dead only in Terai. Now what about this?????????
Police lai goli hannu bhanney adesh yo pali ni Raja ko direct order thiyo ki. Kamal Thapa lai jasari 19 jana manchey ko mrityu ko doshi thahraiyeko cha, yo kanda ko jimmedari kolley liney?????????
Nepal ma ako yo pariwartan janata ley lyayeko bhanney lamo jasto logic liyera tapai jastai bidhwan haru danga parirakhey huncha. Only Pracahnda and the Maoist know the real truth.
Nepal lai GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO banayera chadyau aruley pani hoina Nepali ley nai. Jun desh ko janata ko yeti choodra smaran shakti huncha tyo desh ko halat yestai huncha. Tetro jyan maobadi ko karan ley goyo, aja tei Maobadi sansad ma 83 wota seat liyera baseko cha.
And by the way i saw a CD that maoist mass produced. couple of scenes hit me big time. One was the neta called Diwakar giving a speech. Quote” Janata ko haat ma jati jati banduk huncha desh ma teti teti prajatantra auncha”
And another was a video of clash between a brigade of Maoist and about 6 the then RNA. The maoist obviously killed them. But one army man was ALIVE, and he was murmuring something in pain and a maoist shot him with a SLR rifle twice and they captured it in a video and put it in the CD for us to see.
This CD was out after the andolan was finished. And this is the Govt. of nepal allowing such CD to be out in the market. the disrespect this govt. has shown towards the guards of the nation will oneday backfire……
Our country is leading towards fraction. It may be again 22 and 24 states. Then only every one will be satisfied having oppertunities of being the head of the every states and getting the posts as their wish. What these parties and government are watching? What they want? Do they really want the fraction? or They have not heard anything and have not seen all these violent everywhere in the country? Why still no any proper address of the relaible demands of not only Madhesi People but also all the communities living in the country? Why those accused of Rayamajhi Aayog are still free? Why no strict in boarder area?
This is all terrorist maoists’ doing…. they are causing all these violence in the Terai… they hand’t protestse the “ekata diwas” for nothing.. that was a sybolic day when we all Nepalese could rejioce the fact that we can be called nepalese under the flagship of one country.. but they linked it with prithvi jayanti and brought out their oft-repeated slogan of 238 years of blah blah blah and the others were duped to agree that we shouldn’t celebrate ekta diwas.. the result is that there is no consensus now on this idea of ONE country… people are now talking about bits and pieces of the country… these terrorists were up in arms about a relatively smaller issue of appointment of ambassadors among many and now the loud mouth Pushpa Kamal and the ceremonial Baburam are all mum and quiet- no new rhetoric has come out of them- why?.. because what is happening in terai is what they had planend all along.. they are pushing for Nepal to be called a Republic, a right that was bestowed upon the Nepalese people to decide through constituent assembly– the terrorists are hijacking that agenda as well… they also want to use this as a ploy to delay the arms management so that their terrorists friends can still live with the idea that their arms are only at an arms legnth away and thus they are still pwoerful– it is time we all came out and fought agaisnt these regressive moves of the Maoists who are making sure the CA elections are delayed, and their terms and consitions are met without the elections– so much for the “nisarta sambhidhan sabha” that we all supposedly fought for.
wagle ji and other pahade reporters.. are u guys driven by pahade communal interest that u have even forgotten political correctness????
why do u just make rhetoric of infiltration when our madhesi people are dying their making their genuine demands..
and again..if u guys are really talking about infiltration.. it was the bully maoists that did so..
who shot the first bullet?
who snatched away the dead body??
He Taya,
Nacha meri bulbul, there is no problem in Madhesh, just a bunch of Indians (BJP) sending rascals to keep the king alive. Madhesh, pahad, limbu, kirat …what are all these divisions when the world is moving towards globalization. Europe integrates and Madhise wants to disintegrate? Sorry maybe they want to be part of Bihar. Give us Darjeeling and Sikkim take Birgunj, Manmohan Singh, its a good barter.
“There are many Madeshi who have famlies on the other side of the border. Furthermore, many families might be Indian citizens but reside on the Nepal side of the border.”
First a reality check: the guy who got bullet in neck is an INDIAN. He is NOT a Nepali and the movement that is going on in the name of Madhes liberation is in NEPAL. If you are an Indian citizen, you can’t infiltrate in Nepali demonstration just because you are a family member. Budai Pundit and other bunch of hypocrites, you don’t go after bloodlines in International relations. An Indian is an Indian just like a Nepali is a Nepali. If there is no distinction, why talk about two countries? All you want is make it one, right? If you go after following the blood lines, you might find your relatives in Dr. Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi. So don’t talk like a sh*it by saying an Indian can come and do harm in Nepal just because he is a relative of a certain Nepali.

[icd]… J.T.T.M.
and our SPA-M thugs are sooo busy these days– with a suspened parliament and half of them sick with jaundice, there was an eight party meeting today that decided to have a joint meet on the issue of the Terai problem– now, that is very re-assuring to the people of this country– after 19 days of chaos, the thugs met to decide to meet again…. very efficient!!
Dev
People like you are ruling Nepal and we are not only poorest but backward in
every field only because of narrow minded people like you. Its only you
so called civilized people use slag words for fellow country men and now you say
Madhesi are uncivilized. Shame!!!!!!
infiltrators should not be spared
use the full power of the govt. to stop the country going backwards.
hey mr. dev and damuli……get ready soon you will see a madhesi Prime Minister ……and Mr. Wagle ….. *UCKYOU and *UCKYOUTOO dev and damauli….
Some of the indian infiltrator may even hoist the Tiranga in Birgunj. One of the demands of MJF is self autonomy, which is basically to be another Sikkim.
Hey [icd] Atti
What did you just say? Nepali will have a Madhesi PM? Who the hell is the PM of Nepal now? Isn’t Girija Prasad Koirala, a permanent resident of Biratnagar for decades, a Madhesi? Isn’t KP Oli, the Deputy Prime Minister, a permanent resident of Jhapa, a Madhesi? Isn’t Krishan Prasad Sitaula, the Home Minister, a permanent resident of Jhapa, a Madhesi? Not to mention the present head of the talks team set up by the government who hails from Janakpur. What the fu_k do you bunch of Indians want? To divide Nepal and be the subjects of Lalu in Bihar?
Ram D Yadav
Janakpur
Mr. Yadav: I believe that is excatly what India wants. However, let’s not lose sight of the fact that Nepal does indeed have a major issue with Madeshis not having representation or respect in Nepal’s socio-political structure. Of course the Madeshs have debased themslves by their recent actions. But I think for the most part the majority of Madeshis are peaceful – the recent violence is a result of extreamst elements. Let’s also not forget the Medeshis have taken their cue from the recent so called people’s movement. Thanks Prachanda.
Mr. Yadav, i really support you in your recent comment. The people like you can only convience the innocent people who are trying to be misguided by some worst and corrupt elements for their vested interest. And, this government is also responsible towards this situation. The reliable demands of Madhesi people should be addressed soon.
Someone should shoot that spineless, slimy slug Sitaula in the head! Point blank. No back bone, even Kamal Thapa was better. With these so called ‘leaders’ it’s all the way down.
Kirat…… Now you seee……… I have been using this term “so called democratic leaders” for sooooooooo long…
I did not know this problem would erupt after that violent mob dispaly for 19 days………. but i always knew something would.
Raja ley goli hannu lagako ho ki police lai yo pali pani.????????????
The real problem now even as as Nepal boils and threatens to evaporate is that our leaders still aren’t honest about the real danger thats there for all to see. There is a dire need to catch the bull by its horns but for leaders thats secondary. First they still hung on what their actions could mean for their image and their party.
The most practical and real danger is losing Terai to India. But in this region SPA+M is upstaged and hence no motivation to bring them to mainstream. Terai is lost to Madhesi leaders (who necessarily dont have control themselves) and SPAM is hit by this jolt of lightning … they cant come to terms with this sudden loss. An honest need for reconciliation still isnt there.
Thank you beloved leaders of Nepal. My generation and below us will always remember you for all your contribution. You will be remembered in history as those who brought our country to its knees and how we grovelled and writhed in pain and suffering.
I would be more willing to suffer the uncertainties of leadership void in Nepal if I was given the option to line up all these vultures and hang them publicly one by one. Girija to begin with, followed by Prachanda, Deuba, Makune …
Hanging the SPAM will not solve the problem, instead a Mahabharat will start and end with the Indian Flag flying in Sinhga Durbar
What’s the great argument about an Indian being shot? An Indian shot last April was martyred by the SPAM. Also, the likes of BP Koirala used to take part in andolans in India againsts the British. Is an Indian fighting for the madhesi cause in the Terai because he may have friends and family there not good enough for the likes of UWB? Besides how the hell do we know who is Indian and who is Nepali when there are 4 million people down there who don’t have their citizenships?
