Gyanendra Shah Speaks Again: Time To Keep Quiet, Maharaj!

By Dinesh Wagle
Wagle’s Web Log (Inside: Prime Minister’s Vijaya Dashami Message)

Did Parliament forget to ban Gyanendra Shah from issuing statements every now and then? The white elephant that was seriously wounded in April has started moaning again. That too on the auspicious day of Vijaya Dashami! Gyanendra today issued a statement saying that the need and desire of the nation was to make the peace process and the ongoing efforts to guarantee security to the people successful. Good words, we know he is a “poet/lyricist.” But Gyanendra is not supposed to blabber. He is supposed to keep quiet and celebrate Dashain. If he really wants to communicate to the people and make his desires heard, he should abandon the inherited post of king, open up a political party and go for campaigning. He talks about “national unity and reconciliation.” It really seems strange why he is talking about national unity especially after the grand success of April Revolution. That was the biggest example of national unity in the history of Nepal.

By including the word reconciliation, is Gyanendra seeking help from political parties to continue his status as the chief of monarchy in Nepal? Any sane person in place of Gyanendra would have been ashamed uttering words like “making the peace process successful.” Who killed democracy and declared all out war against the civil society? Who blatantly ignored the cease fires declared by the Maoists? Who jailed people speaking for freedom? Who declared emergency, cut off phone lines and internet, censored media? Now the same person, barely five months after people discarded him, raises his head and starts giving us lecture? That too on why peace process must be successful?

There were very few people queuing up to the royal palace today to receive Tika from the king. Some people might argue that the number shows there are still some who support the king. I don’t disagree considering the cruel fact that the monarchy in Nepal has exploited Nepali people for the last 237 years and there are fistfuls of people who have benefited from that exploitation for generations. And there are quite a few people with slave mentality who still feel happy to serve their master. They always seek an opportunity to please their master. Particularly discouraging was the presence of Rukmangat Katwal, the Chief of the Army Staff, in today’s tika ceremony. But hey, who is Katwal? Who raised him? Who sent him in the Army? Who is Mahendra? So, I was not surprised to see Katwal saluting Gyanendra and his wife in Durbar today. But I have taken positively a press statement issued by the army the day before yesterday that says there was no formal directive issued by the chief of the army staffs to the soldiers and officers of the Nepali Army to go to the king and receive tika.

Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress, Girija Prasad Koirala has wished happiness, peace and prosperity to all Nepalis on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.

The prime minister has also requested all to celebrate the festival with simplicity and cordiality. Saying that the festival was being celebrated in a much peaceful atmosphere this time as compared to the previous years, PM Koirala added that everybody’s actions should be directed towards fulfilling the people’s aspiration for lasting peace.

In a message issued on the occasion of Bada Dashain, the PM has also appealed to all leaders and cadres of Nepali Congress- Democratic to return to the mother party, the Nepali Congress. Calling on everybody for party unity, the Nepali Congress strongman said all leaders and cadres of NC-D are welcome in the NC. (source)

And I am proud of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. He celebrated Dashain in his home in Briatnagar with his family and cadres and discarded the king at in taking tika. By the same standard, it would be really welcome move if Koirala stops advocating for the continuity of monarchy in Nepal. May Lord Ram and Goddess Durga empower him to take such a revolutionary decision. Shubha Vijaya!

Note: It’s now time for D Wagle for yet another trekking adventure. He will be away from computer and internet for about 20 days with effect from Tuesday afternoon (Oct 3rd). “Itโ€™s a 17-day-long camping trek,” he says. “I am already excited about seeing the upper parts of Manang! Enough fiddling with this keyboard; can’t wait to play with the snow!”

I was waiting for you to post something on this. Even if king talked in favor of the peace process, he shouldn’t have spoken. The nation is curing his rights and in the process of deciding the fate of monarchy. In a way, monarchy is about to be suspended. In such situation, Gyanendra should not speak. Yes, it is shameful for a person like Gyanendra to talk about peace! What a joke!!!

Enjoy the trek, man. We will take care of Gyanendra till you return!

Wow! You say only a ‘handful’ people went to the palace while the t.v. channels are showing thousands. A lot of people from all walks of life went to the palace to receive tika. This is the kind of biased news reporting that has made your blog site so so unreliable. Katuwal is also a Nepali citizen, he should also be allowed to get tika just like thousand of others.
Why shouldn’t the King issue a message to the nation when the Queen of England issues a message on the day of christmas? And it was a far better message than that of the PM. Just because we are holding CA elections doesn’t mean that we need to suspend the Nepali state, do we?
Mr. Wagle, if you have guts, place the photo of the long queues of people at the royal palace gate today. And from tomorrow, hundreds are going to queue up infront of the photo studios in New Road and Bagbazaar to get their photo of receivign tika from their monarch. Can you place a photo of that, in your blogsite?

Have a great trekking trip to Manang. I miss them mountains.

As for this king and his tika receivers, our village’s old man too have a few hundred tika receivers. Gyanendra, however, is a billionaire. If more people go to receive tika from him, then it might show that he should be removed faster.

The people above, writing with the names of harkee dai and sudhir limbu are no one but Gyanendra Himself. Earleir, he used to hire people todo this job, but now a days, they also have quit him. He is alone and masterbates in his computer and writes such “shitty” emails.

To tell you the truth, I am one of the ones who used to work for him but I quit long back. These days, he is hooked up to the internet around the clock. He types scuh junk emails, praising himself and condemning the Nepali people.
Gyanendra Bahadur, why do not you realize that you have already licked your own shit and now you have nothing left but to walk out of the palace with nothing but wrapping your naked body with your dear Gorkhapatra.

May Vishnu come down in the form of Parashuram and chop you and also Prachanda, Mahara, Badal like he chopped all cruel Kshetriyas.

To the pro-kings on the blog:

Who came to bow to the feet of Gyanendra on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami? The ones who see what they’re addicted of and of what they’re afraid of to lose.

The slave mentality has double standard just like of thier master, who tried to cross the people’s movement for Democracy but got defeated. Yet he does not accept his defeat but calms himself down for the next opportunity to loud up in the same line of the victory.

In a same way the slave mentality, which I call feudal oligarchic mentality. Feudal way of living is based in the heirarchical set up of mind or conditioning or ‘samskara’ in Sanskrit.

Oligarchic elements in feudalism are nepotism, favotism, and enticements with arbitrary rule of law.

I beleive more than 75% Nepali people are aware of such elements. How many have lined up for the parasite on this occasion? Only those who believe that there are still ignorant Nepali people whom they can make their slaves.

I appreciate the courage of Wagle Ji for this report and the message that the srunk parasite with the blow of people’s movement is moving.

If not the victims of the parasite did not blow back it will start again with all his slaves who visited him to-day making them sick, ignorant and poor.

Watch out these parasite who show up their face in support to their master to make strong their parasitical network.

This means the movement will have to continue to take another momentum to terminate the master parasite and his fellows in the oligarchic network of feudalism in Nepal.

Let see the under current tag of war that parasites are preparing to topple the people’s mandate for contituent assembly elections that will definitely terminate the element of suffering of Nepali people from this parasite.

What did maoist do? they don’t even respect dasain festival and continue killing. What king wants is peace. yes we were united for the april revolution but what is going on now? where is the peace process heading? If it was not the king we would not have been in this position. It was not any political statement and lots of people till to the date expact such statement from the king. Let the CA and Referendum deside the faith of king. He is ready to go for it. It is SPA people and maoist who don’t want to go for referendum between them coz they are still uncertain of their position.

I think it would be fantastic for this country if the King joined politics with his own party. If the country is headed towards either a ceremonial monarchy or a republic, it will be better to put the son or grandson as King and the present King enter politics. I think he can do better as a civilian leader as opposed to a King which truly he was neither trained for nor knows how to handle. Most of his life he has been a businessman and conservationist, two great fields which would help him better in practicial leadership. Infact, this is not a new idea, many have advised him tto do the same. It would be a far cry from the sort of idiots we have as politicans right now. Kingship in the 21st century is probably the most difficult job going, especially if you have the urge to partake in the political and democratic process. Either you have to sit like a stone idol or say forget this and become truly one with the people.

GPK also started the tradition of giving tika like fuedal king. He used “deshbaasi” word twotimes. This word was generally used by the king. The other thing I did not like was that he gave tika to Karmachris of the govt. This is a bad trend, we should oppose this; WE DO NOT WANT TO CREATE ANOTHER FUEDAL LORD.

  20. Wagle Avatar

First, we should understand that this king is under investigation. Remember the High Level Probe Commission chaired by former justice Krishna Jung Rayamajhi? The commission is investigating and interrogating suspected criminals and human rights violators. Gyanendra is being investigated. Till the investigation is over, he should be quiet.

And those who are defending king citing Maoists’ possible takeover, here is what I have to say: This is the only reason that you have got and this will not help you save your king from becoming a citizen (I am talking about the best possible scenario by mentioning the word citizen). Even Gyanendra himself tried to use the Maobadi hauwa and dismissed democracy reasoning that Maoists were to takeover the country and bla bla bla. In the documentary Fahrenheit 9/11, filmmaker Michael Moore brilliantly shows how the Bush administration created panic among American public by talking about terrorism threat that wasn’t and made a pretext to attack Iraq. Gyanendra did the same with the Maoist threat and failed. I know you are the remnant of ‘Raja Aau Desh Bachau’ (Come and save the country, your majesty) movement and we have seen how your raja saved the country!

I read someone mentioning about the Queen of England issuing message. Well, she is not under any investigation, I am sure and she doesn’t aspire to takeover again and dismiss democracy. But Gyanendra still aspires to do what he did in Feb 1, 2005 as and when he gets an opportunity to do so. Queen of England is totally under law but Gyanendra and Nepali monarchy is in transition. And I see same person challenging me to post photos of tika ceremony in the palace here. Didn’t we see enough photos of Shahs and read about phony praises of the dynasty and personalities in our text books in Panchayat kaal? They tried to brainwash us and we have come through those days. Don’t you want a break? But I defend you right to go and wash the legs of Gyanendra and drink that water.

I have seen one change in royalists these days. Before the April Revolution, they used to advocate for absolute monarchy. After they saw the people power, they are terrified to talk about absolute monarchy and say: look, king must be constitutional, I am for constitutional king. What a joke! Their intention is clear; they are using the term constitutional just for an excuse to continue the monarchy. But the time has changed people have decided in April. I see someone above talking about king’s freedom of speech. No, he shouldnโ€™t have that because he is the king. If he wants to enjoy the freedom of speech, as I have said in the original post above, why don’t he throws the crown away and come to the competitive politics? I would love to see him in that avatar. Huti chha?

Why it hurts to see what other people are doing? Are you not really satisfied with yourself? How was your dashain? What are the complaints? Could you afford to celebrate it well? Boka??? What need to be done to fix the problems? The country is still the same only the apparel is new.
The question is “Will the number of people going to palace in next dashain increase or decrease?” That matters because that will be a yard stick to mesaure the popularity of an active govt. and a defamed person.

There is no point arguing that king has the right of speech. I agree with the blogger that he should have the courage to take part in free and competitive politics if he wants to make speech. Clear?

There could be no comparison between democratic leadership who are accountable to people and the king who is by birth or because of bloodline (in this case very suspiciously) reached to the throne. thanks to Wagle that he hasn’t moderated strictly and let FREEDOM OF SPEECH prevail in this blog.

    Secondly,

    To all razabadis and waglebadis:

LET’S BE REASONABLE AND ACCEPT THE MIDDLE PATH.

THE TRUTH IS THAT NO MATTER HOW LOUD YOU SHOUT AGAINST THE KING…HE IS STILL LOVED, RESPECTED BY ADORED BY A BIG CHUNK OF THE NEPALI POPULATION.BIG CHUNK MEANS 40-60%. THE REASON BEHIND THIS IS TRADITIONAL THINKING, FEAR OF FOREIGN INVASION AND POLITICAL VACUUM. SO WHEN GIRIZA SAYS “SPACE” HE IS 100% CORRECT.

THE OTHER TRUTH IS THAT THE INSTITUTION OF KING HAS DONE NOTHING SUBSTANTIAL FOR THE UPLIFTMENT OF POOR NEPALIS OR POOR NEPAL. THEY INSTEAD ENJOYED THE STATE COFFERS.PROMOTED THEIR CHAMCHAS, AND KEPT THINGS STATUS QUO.

SO THE MIDDLE PATH IS TO MAKE THE KING HEAD OF STATE WITH LIMITED POWERS. THE PROCLAMATION HAS ALREADY CLIPPED ITS STRONG WINGS AND I HOPE THYE HAVE LEARNT THEIR LESSON AND KNOW WHERE THEY STAND.

  31. Rajendra Avatar

    Wagle ji,
You seem to have a very one-sided perspective on monarchy in Nepal. I wonder how you can be so blind to how the political leaders sucked the life out of the people who sent them to power. Monarchy, i agree, has not done anything substantial for the upliftment of the poor. But then, who has done it???

You talk about the Panchayat system and King Mahendra…..well…I, as a proud Nepali, bow my head to the late king for securing Nepal’s independence. You should imagine what nepal could have become now had King Mahendra not registered Nepal in the UN. The then-democratic forces were all set to make Nepal merely a state of India, our big brother.

And who the hell are you to decide who should speak and who should not in this democratic country. Freedom of expression applies to all, including the king.

I read all the comments made above. While criss-crossing from the Durbar Marg area yesterday, yes, there were a lot of people till 8 PM to go inside the royal palace for the tika. This is true. Most of them were from the Madhesi community and even Buddhist monks. Some were tourists.
I don’t quite agree with the comment by “jhumpa” that the King needs to join competitive politics to prove himself. Even Prachanda seems to have hesitancy doing so, afraid of the ballot, he seems to have opted for a mass movement after Dashain. On the comment of “Shuva Ichhuk”, I think we already are “maliks” of our lives. There is no guarantee that by removing the monarchy, we are going to be the masters of our own destiny. On the reverse, look what happenned to the sovereign people of Sikkim ! They lost their country, now they are neither sovereign nor independent nor masters of their own destiny.

To the โ€˜Raja Aau Desh Bachauโ€™ (Come and save the country, your majesty) morons:

The following reason of Wagle is of the rational and law abiding human:

“First, we should understand that this king is under investigation. Remember the High Level Probe Commission chaired by former justice Krishna Jung Rayamajhi? The commission is investigating and interrogating suspected criminals and human rights violators. Gyanendra is being investigated. Till the investigation is over, he should be quiet.”

Simply neither the Gyanendra nor his supporters have such sense of reasoning and ability to determine the off-limit that has put on them with the consequence of their past actions.

I like rajabadis, whom I call only left over morons of Feudal Oligarchic Gorkhali Regime, read this following article and attack me directly if the reasoning has no ground of such:

    ********************************************
Why should people of Nepal bother about the fate of the institution of monarchy which has kept Nepali people in dark for more than two and half centuries? As a matter of fact, the monarchy has dug its own ditch with its primitive and stubborn motives to cross the civil liberty of people of Nepal. The legacy of this monarchy is to suppress people with fear, superstitions, religious propagandas and threat of prison and death.

The history of this monarchy is not sweet but disturbing and bitter. It has ruled the county with the extreme oligarchic principles of favoritism and nepotism. It has implanted the feudal oligarchic elements in the mind of ruling elites of the country, which is still governing.

The heritage of this Shah monarchy (with the Rana oligarchy establishment) is to rule the people of Nepal with directives of repression โ€“ โ€œthe poor should remain poor, the sick should suffer, and illiterate should not be literate.โ€

How can we trust such a monarchy that who in 21st century propagates to be the incarnation of a protagonist god of Visnupurana, one of the celestial literary works of Vedic literatures?
It is obvious that this institution of monarchy with its outdated values, with its primitive traditions (contrary to Vedic and Buddha’s teachings), with its superstitions that it tries to impose upon innocent people, with its feudal oligarchic set of arbitrary rules in the poorest county of the world in this 21st century cannot be survived in the movement of time for complete democracy.

I think there are only two ways left in this 21st century for an institution of monarchy to survive. One-way is that the monarchy must be very rich with white money, I mean billionaire in Euro, to invest its capital in the global economy like the institute of British and Japanese monarchy.

Other-way is that all the members of monarchy must be highly educated and intelligent to adapt democratic secular values so that they can live their lives strictly by the rule of law and respect civil liberty from their hearts. So they can speak for human rights protection as members of civil society. They can enlighten themselves with scientific observations from the factors of evolution of life to workings of DNA. Thus they would know how importance is every life on the universe.

With that vision they should advocate quality education. In their lives then they see clearly that religions with plain faith, believes, superstitions, rituals, rites to its gods, goddesses, temples, churches, masques, monasteries and so on are simply the works of those men who could only interpret the unknown this way.

However such is not the case of this monarchy. The history of this Shah dynasty shows that neither it had such insight nor it will ever have enlightenment in the future. As a matter of fact, it has not yet evolved to lay the foundation for such intelligent heritage in its institution of monarchy.

Since the motives and practices of this monarchy are so primitive, irrational and unjust to 21st century’s humanity it is time for Nepal to go ahead with the mandate of peopleโ€™s movement II to comply the rights and responsibilities of people to rule their homeland themselves. This is what I mean by the establishment of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

All in all, if monarchy had crowns with thoughtful, rational and just way of minds, the heritage of the monarchy would have some real weight. Instead it is contaminated by the curse of the widow of one of the Prime Ministers of the country. It is the institution of mass murder and massacre. Who can believe in the 21st century a single young price killed his entire family?
This is how Nepali people question the entire history of Shah dynasty. Thatโ€™s why people have in million participated in peopleโ€™s movements. People have not sacrificed their lives in the final showdown for nothing or for fun to make Shah dynasty happy. But people have participated in the movement with the sole objective to put an end to the continuance of the repressive monarchy whose heritage is based on the arbitrary rule of law.

Therefore it is the mandate of the peopleโ€™s movement to have the constituent assembly elections with the referendum on the institution of the monarchy. People have now rights and responsibilities to cast their vote on the ballet for a Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal or a Federal Democratic of Nepal with the ceremonial monarchy.

Then only the elected members of constituent assembly can decide to draft the new constitution of Nepal with the electoral mandate of the people. That would be then the constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal or the Federal Democratic of Nepal with ceremonial monarchy.

We must be able to achieve this goal in peace and national unity. Otherwise, the future of Nepal will be bleak. The threat of October Revolution of the Maoists is real. No Nepali army, armed police and police can stop it.

Now it is up to the leaders of seven party alliances and its cabinet to accomplish the mandate of peopleโ€™s movement as honestly as they can. If they attempt to plot to join the regressive forces then that will bring the calamitous consequences in the whole nation.

The recent development with the arbitrary appointments of the army, police and armed police chiefs by the cabinet without the basic Parliamentary procedures โ€“ nominations, Parliamentary hearing and voting or without the consensus of the seven party alliances is continuation of the feudal oligarchic government practice against the aspiration of the people.

The urgency that nation faces not for the fate of the institution of the monarchy but for the establishment of institutions of the Federal Electoral logistics of Democracy to protect the civil liberty of people of Nepal. It is time for people to have complete democracy to be governed by the people. This is our only chance for a long period of time to institutionalize democracy to create a new democratic and prosperous Nepal.

Every body in this blog knows you to be monarchists though you pretend to be democrats. From 2007 to thirties(when BP came back from India) you used to call all anti-monarchists ‘Kangressi’, in thirties and fourties you called them ‘Male’ and now ‘Maoists’. You are the same people in different names at different periods under the auspicious doctrine of Babbar Shamsher to Sachchit Shamsher or of modern Dr.T.Giri. You may have given KG benefit of doubt but people have not. What KG did in his five years kingship is unforgivable for the people. Hundreds of people in queue for tika is shameful exhibition among two million Kathmanduites. Even a bullfight on the street can collect that much gathering. The joint force of monarchists such as Kamal Thapa, Sachchit Shamsher, Brarat Keshar singh, Mr.Katuwal and you too could not collect or did not dare to collect more than that is a pity.

You like it or not – democrats are democrats all the time. They are not monarchist, nor they support Maoists’s dictatorship. D Wagle may have bias at one side but it does not make difference so long as he proposes serious topics for discussion. You very people blame him sometimes a American Stooge and next day a Maoist one but I take him a democrat.

Some people tend to believe that ‘Chetana’ (consciousness?) is all about to be subjects of the monarch. Some Harkee dais seem to believe that if you want to be citizens, you do not have ‘chetan’. You have to surrender all your rights to be ruled by the people and put that under the legs of the king. Then only will you be a certified with ‘Chetan’ and chetinshil like our old herkee dais. Congratulations to you harke dais having the great qualities of ‘chetan’ in you. But, no thank you. I think i do not want to ba as chetanshil as you. I am happy enough to be a citizen believing that no one without citizen control has the authority to rule over me. At least theoritically. If I disagree with Girija or Makune or any one, at least I have the right not to vote them in the elections. If you want to be ruled as a subject or if you choose even to be a slave, good for you. Go for it because you are free to choose in democraty. It is the beauty of democracy that you are free to feel yourself as a citizen or a slave if you like that way.

all the democrats of this stupid blog make me feel they were living in a ghetto or a concentration camp of hilter when they type the word FREEDOM. what werent u able to do when KG was in power u morons ?
u had ur job, u woke up in a safe ktm, had a roof on top of ur head .. and u had security.
at that time too the ppl who made chaka jams and made life hell for us by blocking the highways and sending the prices of vegetables sky high was not KG but ur fav makune and girija and prachandra..

and since u are yapping so much abt ur freedom to vote.. i guess thats the reason why i can see GP as the PM again.. i have even lost count how many times he have become PM..hahaha..feel like anyone can become a PM of this bullshit country..and the congress/communist politurbio is comprised of the same bhedas we saw before 1990 and after 2006..so did ur vote make a difference?

the real problem with this country is no one here is to lead..
prachandra has his little red mao book as his bible and is bringing the maoists to the city promising them job, food, security and a place to live. but where will he find that overnight?

makune and GP spend their lives..milking ppl like raj, bikki, wagle and company and they know they are safe and secure as long as long these ppl are around to glorify their corruption and mis-deeds after 1990…

harkee, grow up man! you think a julus/chaka jam/tire burning in and around Kathmandu are the worst things that could happen to the people of Nepal? And you think you know about politics, fren? Don’t you know KG never allowed the RNA to go all out against the Maoists because if the RNA quelled the Maoist uprising KG would have no reason to a. take the reigns of power b. keep holding on to it with the excuse of bringing peace/law and order? KG basically took control of the country in Oct 2002 when he dismissed the then Deuba govt. for ‘incompetence’. Since then what did he prove/achieve? Hey Harkee fren, I am no Maoist sympathizer and I detest the present crop of politicians but really was KG any better than them? He was even more incompetent than Deuba and being the King of Nepal showed less love for his country and subjects then some crooked politician who wanted to make some loot during his five year tenure. To be King and yet so callous about his kingdom and his people-he was definitely the worst of the lot.

harkee my super intelligent ‘fren’ who yaps with great knowledge, re-reading your post #42 I am sure you would love present day North Korea. No opposition rallies of any kind there, infact no opposition there at all-they’re all shot dead!

well kirat, the self proclaimed political guru,
since ur mention on north korea was “least surprising” to my post #46, i was not saying we shouldnt have debates..but since wagle bloke has this bash-the-king anyway attitude and his blog is full of loggerheads who blame the king for everything .. that sucks my fren..
even u would agree with me..
wagle is more concerned with who goes for the tika and who doesnt and if the CoAS hadnt gone for the tika.. he would have added an extra one page in his sick blog saying RNA is now in a new avatar..too bad katwal spoiled his party..
he is more concerend with what KG eats, drinks, meets, reads, writes, tells than how the maoists are torturing the nepalese ppl in the name of greater democracy. that really sucks big time

personall i agree with harkeey dai.I bet all you mao fans dont even know what you are talking about. Nepal shound have kept the king. You loosers didnt do anything when girija was sending the country down the drain, but i bet you support the maos desicion to put the minister on the seat again…… you all are like cattle following the farmer to the slaughter house with promise of a rich field of grass. and you dont know that the same hand that pull you will butcher you.

If you think I am a Royalist I have to say that your ability to comprehend the English language is less than that of a 2 year child. Go to Blogdai or other blog sites and read my comments and come back here and tell me I am a Royalist.
What I was trying to get across with my previous post on this thread was that, I am getting sick of reading the same stupid sh*t that Girija or someone did to disrepect the King. That was good well months ago but it’s getting really old and it’s time we move on. The King isn’t in the picture anymore… so we need to focus on more serious issues.

All this joker of a “journalist” Wagle does is post some cheap tabloid worthy scandalous crap.I know he comes from the family who runs Kantipur so this kind of stuff is natural to him but he really needs to grow up. Maybe this vaction will clear his mind and he will grow a few years.

Anyway, what is serious is the ever deteriorating security situation in the country. Tourism has come to a halt, people are out of jobs and the Maoists continue their campaign of exthortion and kidnappings. What I find disturbing is that the Maoists are totally unapologeic about exthorting money. Also the Maoists have created an army of young Maoist-indoctrinated folks… how are we going to integrate these people into the mainstream society?
These are the issues we should be focusing on and discussing. Who was lining up outside of the Palace to receive tikka …. who gives a fcuk?

Let Gyanendra come out and talk all that he wants. I for one have no problem with any of that.

Lets go forward, lets not be obsessed with Gyanendra. There is a lot more to Nepal than him. Once the country develops, he will be naturally marginalized.

Actually, now that Gyanendra’s days are over, I’m more concerned about what dictator-in-waiting Prachanda is up to.
