Hurray! Nepal Is A Secular Country

Celebrating secularism in Nepal
Yes, amendments must be made in general knowledge books around the world. The world’s only Hindu Kingdom is a history now and people of Nepal, that country, are happy! Hindus are happy, Buddhists are happy, Muslims are happy, Christians are happy, people from different ethnic communities in Nepal are happy. As the parliament passed a historic resolution making Nepal a secular nation, celebrations started on the main street in front of Singha Durbar, the administrative center of Nepal, where parliament is located.

Look Who Is Smiling?

  1. Is this what we fear
    read the article

In recent years, a great deal of attention in the media have been given to the threat of “Islamic Fundamentalism”. Unfortunately, due to a twisted mixture of biased reporting in the Western media and the actions of some ignorant Muslims, the word “Islam” has become almost synonymous with “terrorism”. However, when one analyzes the situation, the question that should come to mind is: Do the teachings of Islam encourage terrorism? The answer: Certainly not! Islam totally forbids the terrorist acts that are carried out by some misguided people. It should be remembered that all religions have cults and misguided followers, so it is their teachings that should be looked at, not the actions of a few individuals. Unfortunately, in the media, whenever a Muslim commits a heinous act, he is labeled a “Muslim terrorist”. However, when Serbs murder and rape innocent women in Bosnia, they are not called “Christian terrorists”, nor are the activities in Northern Ireland labeled “Christian terrorism”. Also, when right-wing Christians in the U. S. bomb abortion clinics, they are not called “Christian terrorists”.

Reflecting on these facts, one could certainly conclude that there is a double-standard in the media! Although religious feelings play a significant role in the previously mentioned “Christian” conflicts, the media does not apply religious labels because they assume that such barbarous acts have nothing to do with the teachings of Christianity. However, when something happens involving a Muslim, they often try to put the blame on Islam itself — and not the misguided individual. Certainly, Islamic Law allows war — any religion or civilization that did not would never survive — but it certainly does not condone attacks against innocent people, women or children. The Arabic word “jihad”, which is often translated as “Holy War”, simply means “to struggle”. The word for “war” in Arabic is “harb”, not “jihad”. “Struggling”, i.e. “making jihad”, to defend Islam, Muslims or to liberate a land where Muslims are oppressed is certainly allowed (and even encouraged) in Islam. However, any such activities must be done according to the teachings of Islam. Islam also clearly forbids “taking the law into your own hands”, which means that individual Muslims cannot go around deciding who they want to kill, punish or torture.

Trial and punishment must be carried out by a lawful authority and a knowledgeable judge. Also, when looking at events in the Muslim World, it should be kept in mind that a long period of colonialism ended fairly recently in most Muslim countries. During this time, the peoples in this countries were culturally, materially and religiously exploited – mostly by the so-called “Christian” nations of the West. This painful period has not really come to an end in many Muslim countries, where people are still under the control of foreign powers or puppet regimes supported by foreign powers. Also, through the media, people in the West are made to believe that tyrants like Saddam Hussein in Iraq and Moamar Qaddafi in Libya are “Islamic” leaders — when just the opposite is true. Neither of these rulers even profess Islam as an ideology, but only use Islamic slogans to manipulate their powerless populations. They have about as much to do with Islam as Hitler had to do with Christianity! In reality, many Middle Eastern regimes which people think of as being “Islamic” oppress the practice of Islam in their countries. So suffice it to say that “terrorism” and killing innocent people directly contradicts the teachings of Islam.

  2. Why not add “HINDU TERRORISTS” such as those who killed so many muslims in Gujarat in 2002? Or the ones who slaughtered an Australian missionary family a few years back? They are “terrorists” too. Ultimately, they are all just plain thugs and murderers. Nothing more. by the way there are more than ONE BILLION MUSLIMS IN THE WORLD. A handful have perpetrated such acts. Do not damage the reputation of the fine Nepal Muslims, who are your friends and neighbors. We all need to respect each other. And since when did your RELIGION becoming the only defining label of a person? What about the fact you are a father or mother, that you are a writer, that you enjoy cricket or football or running. What about that you are a good cook? Or that you enjoy sex? I mean, why not say, “he’s a sexual being”. how much time do you actually think about your religion on any given day! I would bet you think (as do all human beings) of a hell of a lot more than that (sex being one of the big ones, let’s face it, no matter what your religion!). Do you know what they found in the hotel room in Maine of the 9-11 terrorists? The hotel they vacated before flying out? PORN. Muslim religious fanatics and the biggest F___ing hypocrites on the planet. Hey, we’re all, ultimately, just HUMAN. some of us happen to take it to more extremes than others.

  3. Ha Ha Ha- Hallau Rai !!!
Who told you that I’m originally from India? funny guy…my face is telling you that i’m not India hahah but maybe your face looks like Chinese ha ha ha

    Shadowrati,
Fine comment, you know bro , among the hundreds of Muslims are terrorists and one of them are NOT,

So you are now Praising that the ONE who is newly born Muslim guy who know nothing about Muslim Policy and its Koran bible’ teachings. According to islam,They strictly follow islamic laws as the world is not changing and can’t changeable. Accept muslim means to ready to live in the age of 18 century. As you know Muslim religion is not scientific as other religions. And yes, Muslims re-mix in pilitics and Islam depends on political affairs, can’t separete from politics. so is powerful for the long term. as you can see in Malaysia,Indonesia even in India,-who destroyed Hindus and Buddhists monks, temples in the past? Even in Afganistan,Muslims chased Buddhist monks to behead, so that Buddhist monks dessapeared from there- so my friend, when Muslims get political power they will surely take opportunity to change you and its root nature if not probably you will be beheaded. Have you heard about Muslim Cartoon published by European Journalist? How they came out with fierceful ? but look at Buddhist tolarate, when Muslim destroyed the biggest Buddha statue in Afganistan. So my fren wake up!!!! Muslim targets are long term because they can marry with many ladies and product muslims-no PARIWARNIYOJAN, Product of Muslims guys are their great merit-according to Muslim bible !

I don’t wana write a long in here coz no time fren, but my question is why muslim countries do not accept any other religions? i.e. Saudi Arab,Jordan,Afganistan,Iraq Iran ect.But other religions are fine and nothing problems each other. Even in Thailand,Southen 3 major province muslim terorist beheaded many Buddhist monks and lay people until now. see here today’s muslim attack and killed Buddhists.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/5004062.stm

And in 1990,one stupid Buddhist Indian monk came to Nepal and gave speech on Nepal TV,saying that Nepal should be Hindu Country. That is why we are suffering until now ! So Indian is Indian, They are stupid Hindu shit , we can’t say that ever they are wearing yellow robe, they are real or fake monk?? But Don’t forget that the Buddha is Nepalese Citizen, born in Lumbini Nepal. SAVE THE BUDDHIST WORLD !!!

  4. sudeep, that was a good read. Good point about the Christian terrorists.

  5. VSM, you are from India. Spawn of the Bajrang Dal, spilt seed of nathuram godse, mutated virus of the RSS, whipped by the Muslims, you crawled into this country looking for safety. Don’t stir trouble here too otherwise you’ll get booted out from Nepal.

  6. Secularism is a good thing. It opens up possibilities. But things to be keep an eye out for:

    1. Colonial History: Most of Latin America’s indigenous people were christianized. But they weren’t just given a nice new religion in which they got to think they were white and have names like “John” and “Simon.” They were also asked to give up their local practices. No more shamanism, no more animism. So indigenous activists celebrating the right to practice Christianity — I hope they also read up on colonialism. Fight Hindu colonialism, but pray do also fight the Christian kind. Anything that tells you you are less (or more) than other people is a warning sign. Hinduism tells you you are less (lower caste). Christianity tells you you are more (God-loving Christians as opposed to unenlightened pagans.) Take note, use your mind. You want to be equal to everybody, not less or more.

    2. Evangelical Christianity: Is a big force in the world. It is supported by millions of dollars, and thousands of willing, eager white people who like to spread not just the love of Jesus Christ, but also the idea of white domination. So please do ask yourself these questions:

Jesus was a good man who died for our sins, but do we all need to believe this as gospel truth in order to pass as a good human being? Perhaps you can also workship a stone and trees and spirits still be a good human being? Perhaps you can follow the path of a Buddhist and still be a good human being?

    3. Local traditions: Worship of female goddesses (Goddess worship) and animistic practices (worship of nature, sacrifices) is considered to be evil, and the work of the devil, esp. by very conservative and evangelic Christians. These evangelical groups flourish in Nepal, but are seen to be marginal in the US, where they originate from. They are not your average kind compassionate Christians who want to eradicate poverty, and make people happy with the love of Christ. They are determined to wipe out the hand of the devil, which means basically 90% of the practices of Nepal. Mainstream Christians who mind thier own business are disturbed by these folks. How will this play out? This needs to be addressed in the secular discourse.

    4. Other parts of the world: Indigenous peoples from all over – Native Americans from the United States, Latin Americans, South Americans – each and every one of those people have had their traditions, culture and history wiped out by Christianity in the last few hundred years. Think about it – anybody who chooses just to worship a kuldeuta, and have shamans to perform the rites, are incomplete human beings until they embrace the love of Christ. Hinduism has not wrought the same devastation, simply because Hindus don’t say that to worship your own gods is evil, or because they may try to overlay with another layer, but they won’t actively try to stop local practices. To many historians, evangelical Christianity has been a devastating colonial force that has eradicated the cultures of small and big cultures (ESPECIALLY INDIGENOUS PEOPLES) all over the world.

Saudi Arabia giving money to build big mosques is the least of worries. The thing to worry about is that indigenous peoples of Nepal, who still practised their own tradition, culture and custom, will now open up from the fake conditions created by an authoritative state and go straight into the globalized arms of evangelical Christian colonialism.

  9. HINDUISM IS SECULAR, HINDUISM IS THE PERFECT WORD TO DESCRIBE SECULARISM EXCEPT FOR CASTE SYSTEM WHICH IS BEING REFORMED NOW. FOR EXAMPLE IN INDIA AND NEPAL EVERY CITIZENS ARE TREATED EQUALLY ONLY BECAUSE OFITS HINDU MAJORITY, YOU CANNOT COMPARE THIS WITH PAKISTAN, BANGLADESH, USA, RUSSIA, LIBYA OR MALAYSIA. DECLARING NEPAL SECULAR IS THE WORK OF THOSE WHO HAVE NO WORK. ITS THE TRAGEDY OF NEPAL BECAUSE IT UNIQUENESS IS RAPED BY THE FOOLISH LEADERS WHO ARE NOT FIT FOR RULING NEPAL. THEY ARE FIT TO WORK IN THE HOUSE OF MAOIST LEADERS AS BONDED LABOURS. HINDUISM IS NOT A MAN MADE RELIGION LIKE OTHER RELIGIONS WE HAVE ON THIS EARTH. NO RELIGION CAN BE COMPARED WITH HINDUISM WITH ITS BRAODMINDEDNES, SECULAR FORM, GREATNESS AND IT IS VERY CLOSE TO SCIENCE. MANY WESTERNERS ARE NOW APPROACHING HINDUISM FOR THEIR KNOWLEDGE IMPROVEMENT, HEALTH, EDUCATION NEEDS. THERE IS NO THING GREATER THAN HINDUISM ON THIS EARTH.BUT IT HAS BECAME FASHION TO BLAME HINDUISM FOR EVERY PROBLEM OF NEPAL. THE MAIN PROBLEM OF NEPAL IS SHORTNESS OF NATURAL PROPERTY LIKE LACK OF GOOD FERTILE LAND, MINERALS, LANDLOCKED TOWARDS SEA ITS GROWING POPULATION AND FOOLISH COMMUNISTS. KING GYANENDRA WAS HELPLESS WHEN MAOIST ARE DESTROYING NEPAL AND POLITICAL PARTIES WHICH DOESNT WANT PEOPLE TO BE CALM THEY ONLY HELPED NEPAL TO BURN, KING TOOK EXTREME STEPS OF CURB VIOLENCE OF STUPIDITY, BUT IT HARMED PEOPLE OF NEPAL, THIS IS THE ONLY CAUSE THAT GIVEN “LICENCE” TO POWER HUNGRY NEPALESE POLITICIANS TO MAKE FOOLISH DECISSION OF MAKING ALREADY SECULAR HINDU NATION TO “WESTERN AND COMMUNIST SPONSORED SECULAR NATION”.AS A CHRISTIAN IAM VERY HAPPY IN HINDU DOMINATED INDIA.

  10. i agree with basanta also i think nepal should continue as a hindu monarchy . moists are among the worst people on earth . nepals or any other countries future is in capitalism not communism the king should be replaced with his grandson . nepal has a place for itself in the heart of all hindus. it must use this influence to bring hindu companies like infosys , reliance and mittal to invest in it under moists nepal will become another cambodia .there is lot of hatered between muslims and hindus in india nepal must not allow this to happen in its soil

  11. Very good I think hindus should be united and nusklims ahould be prosecuted

  12. Prosecuted for what? For being Moslems?? All Nepalis who care about religion should be united against godless communism.

  13. Hindus have offically lost a home country. Every other religion has at least one country that is declared that religion. Christians have Norway, Muslims have Saudi Arabia, Buddhists have Burma, Jews have Israel. Hindus have NOTHING. Hindus are now a stateless people. Look what secularism did to India. And now the same thing is going to happen in Nepal. My country, Nepal, you will loose your Hindu population. Also, there are now protests here over this declaration, so not everyone is happy. Was this matter taken to the people? Nope! Hinduism is an integral aspect of Nepal. And if Muslims have a problem, they should move to Saudi Arabia. If Christians have problems, move to Europe. If Buddhists have problems, move to Thailand.

  14. JAI HINDU RASHTRA-JAI NEPAL-JAI BHARAT,

    Dear Hindus,
Now Neapli Hindu Communist Playing in hand of MUSLIM & CHRISTIAN WORLD.Save your Dharma & roots.I am not supportor of KING but we personally support NEPAL as a HINDU RASHTRA(NATION).Hindu Genocide is going on since centuries by ISLAMIST.So fight for HINDU NATION in NEPAL & we are with you.If possible finish all islamist in NEPAL & finish PRACHANDA & GYANENDRA too in the intrest of NEPAL & HINDUS of UNIVERSE.

  15. FUcking retards…I’m sure more than half the people dont know what “secularism” means…the people who protest and mob rallies are uneducated fools who go with the wind and dont have visions…at least the journalists should fuckin stop showing pictures of children who cant even read and write properly putting flags over founders of our country…this is a fuckin joke…instead of wasting money for friggin demonstrations and strikes and new parliaments…go fuckin educate ppl.

  16. everything might go smooth but i don’t think it will continue in case of religious holidays…what r they going to do abt it…coz nine days holiday for navaratri has been brot down to 3 days and 5 days yama pachak holiday has been brot down to 2 days and it cant be further shrinked…so besides these days even if all hindu religion related holidays r wiped off the calender it will still have loads of other religious holidays and when all 60 or 61 ethnic people of Nepal ask for their particular religious holidays to be added to the calender …when are Nepali people going to work…

  17. Make Nepal a Hindu nation: Hindu activists

Participants of an interaction in New York have urged all Hindus across the globe to work to defend Nepal as a Hindu nation.

Speaking at the interaction organized by Sanatan Darma, Sanskrit and Nepali Center at Shree Satya Naraian Temple, New York City Hindus from various parts of the United States, Canada, India, Bangladesh, United Kingdom, Bhutan, Shri Lanka, Trinidad, Guyana and Nepal expressed solidarity for Nepali Hindus to make Nepal a Hindu nation.

The parliament reinstated following the success of the April movement has declared Nepal as a secular country. Hindu activists are protesting against the parliament’s decision and demanding to make Nepal a Hindu country.

A press release issued by the organiser said, scholars from the Indian American community Arish Sahani and Shree Gaurang G. Vaishnav, General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (World Hindu Council of America) Raju Bhatija and Vijay Sigdel, a political activist from Nepal presented their views in favour of making Nepal a Hindu state.

Speaking at the programme, Vaishnav said that all Hindus must be united and rise up to defeat the foreign and internal enemies who wish to divide the Hindus.

Bishal Bikram Shah, a Nepali scholar currently living in New York city condemned the violence and pelting of stones during the visit of His Majesty King Gyanendra to offer prayers to Lord Pashupatinath on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri.

He demanded that the miscreants, hooligans and criminal elements be arrested and punished.

Various Nepali artists also presented cultural programme on the occasion. nepalnews.com pb Feb 21 07

It is a very bad news and harmful for Nepal.

  23. Secularism is the right thing, it is acceptable to each community, it should be to every community. No community has any right to impose its views and beliefs on others.Religion and politics should not be mixed. Nepal which is the home of diverse group of peoples needssecularism, when the country was officially declared a Hindu state then too lakhs of people had protested, peoples belonging to indigenous and religious minorities, and today they have triumphed, they have got what they want. Now the question of beef, almost all communities barring a few communities rest all communities are or were traditionally beef eaters, that is a fact that can be disregarded, of course with hinduisation some communities gave up, but with those communities again returning to their ancestorial religion and some to Buddhism, they would certainly start enjoying the stuff. There is no reason that beef should be banned. So beef and pork should be available and no restriction should be imposed. Jai Bhim!

  24. Dr S.K. Rai,
Jai Bhim! It’s is nice to see a fellow speak as the chief of some Sena, Brother I don’t agree with your sayings. Just contemplate to what you are speaking and what are you doing, would your ancestors that died of the wounds inflicted by those that you are trying to defend and speak for would have accepted to what you are doing now. Think of the great Kirat ancestors, listen to the beats of your heart. You are a slave, slave of those who have left no stone unturned to destroy us, all the indigenous and oppressed masses, Dalits. Ghulamgiri tyagi Deo! Serving them would make you slave forever.. The Rashtra Sena can do nothing, better understand that too. A brother you are, and remain a brother.
    Jai Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar!

  25. Sonali, and all Hindu frens,

I agree and disagree with your comments,

    Muslims have Saodi Arab, correct.
    Christians have Europe, absolutely

Buddhists have Thailand/ Burma. Absolutely NOT…

Look, neat- I’m a pure Buddhist born in Nepal as well as the Gautam Buddha was born in Nepal (Lumbini) too. Buddhism was spread all over Burma/Thailand from Nepal, so the original land of Buddhism is NEPAL not any foreign countries as your thought arise in mind. Do not try to put complecated hole to all Nepalese citizens as you were already in.
Be mature, and Hindu influence in Nepal later from southen India when the Turkis Muslims invaded to India, and they fled to Himalayan lands all over. So previously/initially the himalayan country Nepal was found by Buddhist people. Thus, Nepal is the land of Buddhism NOT Hindusm.

  26. As taught by Buddha-Buddhism does not believe in the concept of God as Hinduism does. Could it be more clearer that the two religions are fundamentally different? The ‘ Buddhism’
practiced in Nepal-Mahayana and Vajrayana branches- are almost unrecognizable from the philsophy that Buddha taught.

Why should Nepal be a land of Buddhism or Hinduism? Let it be a land where men/women are free to practice whatever religion they choose-as long as it does not harm others.

  27. Nepal belongs to 89% Hindus. There should be no reason why it should not be a land of Hindus. It was, is and will remain a land of Hindus. As you all know, not a single proclamation by this tikey parliament is valid. So it’s better for 2 of 3 nonchalants to continue being a part of Hindu Nepal.

And you need to go and learn your religion. Buddha never went out to bring about any religion. There is no where written that Buddha didn’t believe in Gods. Buddhism was, is and remains a sect of Hinduism. Howmuchever you try you can’t didn’t the facts.

Anyway, I need not waste my time on terrorists like Kirat above. Move on and better take on some intellectual discussions.

  28. noname looking for an ‘intellectual’ discussion? that’s real funny! Yes I shall leave you to your search for intelligence…

  29. noname,
what’s ya name? I think you don’t have land to live so you came here to spread your sh!t over. Every people have their land after birth but you don’t have even name, i know well, motherless child like u have always mental problems so u ecape from the mental hosptal to talk a lot before send u back to the same custody. so you have no right to talk about Nepal issues which you know nothing at all that you mention above is false.

  30. nonsense (21:54:54) ,

what’s your name so that we know that you are not an illegitimate child? you went to ask someone’s name but forgot to give down your name (if you got any), address, photo and video links. i think you need to bury your face in sand.

I guess I know Nepal better than any of you. If not the minute details, I sure the overall complexity.

Idiots, idiots and damned idiots. SPAM warlords and cadres and comrades are so full of them. None, absolutely none has got any brain. You are only good at one thing: KILLING PEOPLE. And that’s a shameful thing to be a good that.

  31. Correct me if i’m wrong, but people of different religions have been free to preach and practice their religion for quite some time now, haven’t they?

So we were secular, but now that we have given it a name, somehow we’re supposed to feel “happy” and “grateful” to our SPA masters. Nepal is a nonstop source of comedy.

  32. so you mean to say that the state sponsoring one, and only one, religion has no impact, relevance or significance in a multi-religious, multi-ethnic country? can people be so naive?(or stupid?)

  33. Sponsoring HOW?

Is it WRONG to say that nepal is a hindu country when a large majority of the people are Hindus? It would be wrong if:

    1. The other religions were actively suppressed
    2. there was “forced” conversion into hinduism

Unless you can prove that either of these happend, the only thing that has happened is that the names have been changed.

  34. kanak bro there r so many. limbu were made to wear janai but limbu threw them in tammar khola, decree was made for limbu to follow dasain n as a evidence hang the head of butchered raga on the wall or else face the consequences, so many indegenous places, mountains, rivers name has been changed into khas names, like mt everst why r they so reluctant to call it chomulungma, well no one cared before untill it was declared worlds tallest mountains so they hurreidly named it sagarmatha. how were gurung n and magars misleaded casue they formed one of the main military strenght in shah dynasties expansion to beleive as hindu. how could hindu based constitution be favourable to other ethnic n indegenous people.how could bahun escape punishment for same crime while other get hanged. n they received indegenous lands in the name of birta n other shiiits. but i am proud of religious harmony nepal has, its an example to the world. i respect hinduism as much as any other religion. no offence bro…

  35. kanak, sorry I can’t be bothered to reply in depth to such bright people like you. this blog really lacks intelligent bloggers, man!

  36. yes, lack of intellihent blogger like “noname”. He has no brain like Gyane, he is money asslicker, [icd] like king Gyane, lady killer like Prince paras. right now his toungue has been cut, only he can do is read and write. Feeding stupid people like him to reduce nation budget of nepal, using computer with valueless, writing with know nothing, useless idiot bastard. slay him down bitch

  37. dear nepalese,

it is tragedy of nepal by giving up its label of hindu nation. very soon nepal will be going to come to a bad shape under communists party rule. so people of nepal should think cleverly to defeat communism.

    lawrence.

  38. Dear Nepalese,

The people of Nepal are enjoying and celebrating of removal of monarchy and declaring of republic. removal of monarchy is good but naming itself a secular republic is foolish decission of the parliament. Every nation on this earth has uniqueness of its own, nepal”s uniqueness was being worlds only hindu nation. People may ask that ” being hindu nation will feed hungry man” but being worlds only hindu nation definately nepal had great distinction. Nepal was a secular even it was hindu nation. it is really foolish decission of maoists to declare it secular, because hinduism is itself secular. The countries which had seen communist rule have become virtually bankrupt when communism was thrown out of those countries.” THE FAILED DOCTRINES OF COMMUNISM WILL NEVER MAKE NEPAL PROSPER AND IT WILL TURN NEPAL TO A HELL AT THE EXPENSE OF ITS INNOCENT PEOPLE”
and the future of this beautiful innocents people will further destroy under communist dectatership. Out of 40 communists state of this world 38 had been brought down by its own people for their cruel and wrong economic policy. but it is tragedy that nepalese people are rejoicing when these comminists are making march to their parliament. The time has come oust these foolish communists and turn nepal to hindu democratic nation. This world hopes that people of this beautiful country elect a government which make nepal heaven of this earth.

    d.h lawrence.

  39. Nepal should be a Hindu Rastra and India should be a Hindu Rashtra, everyone else are Foreigners. Non-Hindus does not have any love for thier motherland.

  40. Nepal is the home of Shiva. Shiva is the ultimate God. Indra could not fight Shiva. Vishnu fell in praise of Shiva. Brahma lied and was humiliated by Shiva. Does anyone really understand what the means? THE HOME OF SHIVA? The very soil, the trees, the mountains and every aspect of Nepal flows from the fact it is a Hindu country. When you have secular rule it results in schizophrenia and loss of idenitity. Has anyone tried reading the Upanisad? Shiva Purana? Vedas? Nepal is where Shiva rests. To deny this is to deny what Nepal is as a country. We do no need Christians in Nepal. We do not need Muslims in Nepal. Christians are Jews who lived in the Middle East. What connection does Nepal have with those people? Muslims? They are from Arabia. What connection is there? I am not against equality. In none of the books is there a need for people to be oppressed. But do not jump on these western ideas of a need for a secular nation. Nepal can thrive by allowing for free education, better electoral controls and a emphasis on technology.

  41. Dear Arun n Shiva,

Let’s think naturally, if all of us bring our religion then their would be no end.

Just put a common sense, are there any possibilities to expel the whole non-hindu people from Nepal? Is it possible to lock up Nepal back like years back when it closed down from foreigner where right now tourism is the main income for the country?

You may say it’s the homeland of Shiva but the fact it is one of the 12 poorest countries in the world and it needs hand from everywhere to make developed.

And why you bring Christians and Muslims inside it? They live there, some of them contributed much more then you to Nepal as their country? What make you have any right to judge people have are non Hindu?

Let all the people practise what they believe, even if they want to convert into any other religion without force, by all of their free will, LET IT BE THEN!

It calls as a freedom! The Basic human needs everywhere in this world!

That place is not belong to Shiva! That place is belong to ALL NEPALI CITIZEN!

    Regards,

  42. It i difficult to satisfy the need of one ethnic group However, it is also hard to restrict one nation in its believe and this is what we see in Napal. So it is the popular decision which should be taken to decide what suit to Napalese people. We do not want to repeat what is going on Irak.
