There is no Buddha Boy meditating under the Peepal Tree. Searching efforts have begun as Nepalis and interested people around the world question how this happened and where the 16-year-old Ram Bahadur Bomjam might have gone.

Look Ma, there is no Buddha Boy. This is the first time in teh last 10 months that a scene like this could be seen under the peepal tree. Otherwise, there would be a boy apparently deeply meditating (see the photo below). He left the venue early Saturday night and hasn’t been seen in the area since then.
Ram Bahadur Bamjom..the meditating boy under the peepal tree. This scene no doubt has become one of the widely photographed scene in recent times in Nepal. Posters have been circulated in Nepal and people are already wearing lockets with photos of Ram Bahadur Bamjom. Ram, famous as the Buddha Boy or the Little Buddha or the Meditating Boy stayed there meditating for about 10 months “without eating”.

In search of the Buddha Boy.. Members of Armed Police Force patrol the area looking for Ram Bahadur Bamjom after the committee looking after the Buddha Boy requested the police to search the boy. This is the first time police have arrived in this area after the 16-year-old boy started meditating under the peepal tree. The Bara District Administration Office has ordered the seal of different exit points and alerted the police to prevent anyone from abducting the boy and taking him away from the area.
Ram Bahadur Bamjom’s mother sleeps in front of the Peepal Tree under which her famous son used to meditate. She is eagerly waiting for the safe and sound return of the Little Buddha. She said that she is not feeling hungry after hearing the news. She appears to be tired as she hasn’t eaten anything for last two days.

i know where is he, he is now going towards west towards the gorakhpur and now he is coming back to bihar and in bihar he met with prakash who is trafficking girls and now he comes back to the charkose zhadi………………………..i have fitted a microchip in bomjans body and looking him through satellite camera…………………………………………………..any body want to know more

I may be wrong, but let me say something.
Human beings in general and the people of Nepal in particular are expert at creating many hoaxes. The ‘little buddha’ was one of them. The case of little buddha is special becuase it fooled many Nepalese people and foreign journalists alike. The meditation of Ram Bahadur was silly coz it was based on a mythical and unreal story of Gautam gaining enlightenment by meditating under a pipal tree. Ram Bahadur was either a fool or he was trying to fool others. A month ago a friend of mine came up with a proposal to visit this kid, and I rejected his proposal by saying that I have no interest in visiting the eccentric people who do odd and unimportant things.

Let him meditate peacefully, who ever he is,, Do not disturb him, he is not demanding any thing from you and he does’t want any publicity, he just want peace & peaceful meditation. thats simple things also could not provided by the nepali people or nepali administation and make ram bahadur fled away. shame on you…… Awake and protect him. Where ever he is, may he be successful in his long meditation and let peace be restored in Nepal.
I have read a little about the ” little budha ” and considering that the young boy meditated for ten long months without food , that means our body needs only oxygen, which we breath, to stay alive and not doing any physical activity. And Meditation definately helps in synchronising the intake of oxygen and the blood flow and other requistes to be alive without food and water.
About his disappearance, raises a big QUESTION MARK.

I think it’s irrelevant which religion we belong. Let’s just respect each other. After all, it’s how u are as a person, towards others that really matters.
Let us all unite and enjoy this life that we are having. Nobody knows what’s going to happen when we die! So it’s best to enjoy things while we are still living and just continue to do good and respect each other, since, these are the fundamentals of our existence.
Oh, and to Ram Bahadur Bamjom, wherever you are, I hope that you have achieved by now what you wanted to before you started. Enlightenment?…, whatever, I hope you are now happy and healthy.

I just saw the feature on Discovery Channel titled” The Boy with Divine Powers” and decided to surf the net to find out more information. Somehow, I found the story mysterious and intriguing and chanced on this site. I see that there is already very in-depth and serious discussions and debates. I would just like to say that every religion has its version of miracles and this is just one of them. Whether you believe it or not, i believe the important message is how these events should inspire people to “do good” and realize that the world and all its complexities are all trivialties of our existence in life.
Ram’s (intentional) disapearance could have been due to these complexities of the world closing in on him and maybe he wanted an escape from all of these.

Great debate and slagging going on. I heard about Ram from my girlfriend. I saw a documentary last night on discovery channel. It is an amazing world. I breathe in awe every day. The sky reflected in the rain. the wind in the leaves. Cold water on skin . Music. Stories and miracles. Animals plants .There is so much work to do .There he was sitting still in his own silence . Now gone . BRING ON THE GREAT MIRACLES> the tapestry of human culture is rich and shines . We should be dancing and singing. today is the sixteenth of december. Praises to all creation . Amen x

Wasn’t it a seminal moment in the Buddha’s meditative progress when he realized the futility and counterproductive nature of resorting to such self-mortification? Plus, the Buddha’s journey to enlightenment took seven years; however, he never meditated for more than a week at a time (I think. But I know that he didn’t ever do this for anywhere near a year.) It seems incredible to me that there even is a boy that spends that much time meditating (even if he were taking food). The Buddha was tired and had to nurse himself back to full health after lengthy stints of meditation. Also, why would he do this under a tree in public? Just to be like Buddha? It all seems a little contrived. I also think that after sitting still for that long your muscles would atrophy. I just don’t think that this is conducive to enlightenment. Why would a 15 year old, unenlightened boy, prescribe six or seven years for his meditation? Once again, just to be like the Buddha? I agree with the guy who works to help abused women. In fact, I think that he is closer to Nirvana than this little boy, because he is well aquainted with “Dukkha” and the first noble truth. As for the French guy’s comments. All that about religion. That was just ridiculous. laughable. Buddhism is barely a religion in the strictest terms: it posits no god, teaches anatman or no soul, and considers the self to be a combination of 5 transient aggregates (skhandas), some of which out last the others, but all of which must one day disappear. This is essentially atheism. rebirth for a buddha is impossible, because a buddha by definition is somebody who has extinguished their karmic cycle, thereby bringing future “rebirth” to an end. In the Buddha’s words, “I am free of Karma. This is the last birth.”
I think he just went to another dimension.

I couldn´t read all the comments in this web side. But I read mr Prakash´s opinion and about his job which he is working for last 13 years. I absolutely agree mr Prakash and it is really very surprising, how one husband can order his wife to sleep outside during her period??!! Even how one father can sell her daughter for money. It is really unbelieveable, but it is a very dark reality of nepali culture and religion!!!!!!! If you think deeply and go deeper and deeper in our culture and religion, you will understand that our religion and culture are only made for man to use women as their play things.
I also saw some nepali girls in new delhi during my last stay in India. I meet some of them, who are free from the red light area but don´t want to go back home, because they have no really family, no person who can give them love. It is our culture, who can sell our own sisters, daughter and wifes. I am very sad about it.

With myself having gone through several meditation courses in the past I have complete confidence to say that this Buddha boy is a fake guy. In today’s age you have several opportunities to meditate peacefully in many different meditation centres. One who has gained a height in meditation has no such greed for publicity. It is not Buddha’s age to meditate in Jungle.Third thing is no meditation is possible without a teacher upto a certin high level. Even for Buddha himself did not discover all the techniques himself, he just made ammmendments on Hindu meditation techniques. From every angle you judge you find no consistency and integrity in this fake hero’s drama.
Time will disclose every curtain . Let’s wait.

I am really upset by seeing the armour with dogs in searching of little meditator.
Everyone can meditate if he/she wants from inside, it is good for self and others.
Ram Bomjon is just doing meditation, it is people who gave name of Budda to him, people are just scandling this things.
I request to every human being in Nepal n all over the world, Pls leave the little meditator, wherever he is, whatever he is doing, will not atleast harm any human being, he will be alright.
If he is really the incarnation, then it is really good for the nation as there is nothing left good, only violence there.

Of course he is a concern of us. We just want to be sure he is a real meditator , not a pretentious one. Many of his activities are suspiscious. Where is he now ? Why on earth does he need to disappear when there are so many institutions supporting a meditator in this modern world ?
