Breaking Blog: (15:00 NST) Rajaram Gautam, a reporter with Nepal Magazine, is in Butwal area and reports: When army went to remove those obstacles yesterday they came under attack by Maoists. Fighting took place in Sunaul, on the border of Nawalparasi and Butwal, Rupandahi. “We saw 14 corpse of security personnel,” Rajaram said. Four out of five army vehicles were destroyed by the Maoists. Locals say that they saw Maoists taking three corpses with them. Maoists also looted arms from the security personnel. The incident took place just 12 kilometers away from the army barrack in Ramnagar, Butwal. A civilian died and four others were injured.
Fighting is still going on in Bed Daha’s Ghoda area (Butwal).

Maoists put stones and logs on Daldale Bridge at Butwal-Narayanghat section of Mahendra Highway. Maoists put these obstruction before their week-long (5 days in fact) Nepal Banda. Authorities have been unable to remove the derbies until now. Small vehicles are using small temporary road but big ones are facing difficulties to go through the road.
