Almost all failed politicians in Nepal sooner or later tend to resort to the dirtiest method available to them. Look at Padma Ratna Tuladhar. After being rejected by his own population in election, the old lion has now turned into a reckless elephant, destroying houses and farms with the manufactured claim of marginalization of Newars. Now give me a break. Newars are among the richest, most educated people. They have become prime minister, and were private secretary of the kings. And the vaunted Newar culture of Kathmandu was a thing of past when Prithvi Narayan attacked Kathmandu. If you remove the reign of Bhupatindra Malla, Siddi Narasingh Malla and Pratap Malla, and subtract the contribution of Licchavi, what will be left about Kathmandu is a continuous fight in the valley among the Malla kingdoms. The last king Jaya Prakash Malla was fighting with his own people for most of his reign, and was betrayed by his own people when he finally fell to Gorkha. Ditto with tumultuous Patan and gradually unstabilised Bhaktapur. Those kingdoms were sitting ducks when Prithvi took them. Truth hurts, but these are the realities, and Padma Ratna and his ilks need to face them.
I mean think about this: if a king of the poorest of the chaubise kingdom- Gorkha had no market, no mines, and with 12,000 population was considered a small country- could win three ‘mighty’ kingdoms of the valley, how safe you were really from the mighty and cunning British, who needed a ‘hill station’ and a ‘trade route’ to Tibet? The British needed a decent hill station so badly that later, they settled in a barren land later to be called Darjiling.
Padma Ratna or Keshav Sthapit are not the only whiners. After not being able to win the election, after getting downsized from 6 to 3 members in parliament, Nepal Sadbhavana Party had no other option but to resort more violently to the terai issue. But most important transformation came with the spoilt brats like Bimalendra Nidhi and Jaya Prakash Gupta. Nidhi lost his own election, his stature, and is not even comparable to the shadow of his illustrious father. JP Gupta’s latest book is nothing but a chronicle of self victimization when he was indubitably a corrupt man who is free now exactly because of corruptibility of present judiciary. These people now talk loudly about victimization of Terai.

Just like most of the Nepali rejected the Maoists despite the feeling that some of their core demands stemmed from legitimate concerns, decent people in Terai are going to reject these firebrand opportunists, while maintaining that their demand do have valid foundation, and that we all need to work out the future path nonviolently.
Think about this: what would a free Terai look like? Now, Chitwan and Makwanpur are the districts heavily populated by “Pahadiyas”, so heavy indeed that Sadbhabana party didn’t even field a candidate in Chitwan in the past elections. Since these districts touch India, any country of “Terai” will be like pre-1971 Pakistan, geographically separate. To go to Rupandehi from Siraha, one will have to go from India or a part of Nepal. In the long run, like erstwhile Pakistan, such states don’t survive.
If somehow present Terai is merged with India, the situation of Teraibasis won’t improve either. Biharis are treated pretty badly in places like Bombays or New Delhi, something similar to how ignorant Kathmanuites treat them in Kathmandu.
Talk to both JTMM factions: Jwala Singh

INARUWA, Jan 13- Jwala Singh, chairman of the Janatantrik Mukti Morcha (JTMM) faction which broke away from Jai Krishna Goit, has said that the government should hold talks with a joint team of both the JTMM factions.
Talking to the Post over the telephone from an undisclosed location, Singh (Nagendra Pashwan) said, “If the seven parties can hold talks with the Maoists, why can’t the government talk to both of our factions?”
“I still consider Goit as my guide, but I don’t know why he tries to stay away,” Singh told the Post. “I want to carry him on my shoulder and take him along in the war to free the terai people.” He also denied rumors of his party threatening to disrupt the citizenship distribution and expressed his party’s commitment to helping in that task.
“We possess no differences over constituent assembly and citizenship distribution,” he said, adding, “But, we will tell people not to take citizenship certificates being distributed by Pahades (people hailing from the hilly region).”
The fact is there is no shortcut to gain respect. Teraibasis need to work hard, produce more intelligent professionals such as doctors or engineers, keep their towns safe and clean. If all the news they hear from Terai is about witches being fed faeces, or brides immolated due to dowry concern of in-laws, or grooms chosen in open market, how can members of another community genuinely respect that community? Sherpas who were considered inferior and dirty in the past now has earned enormous respect for themselves sheerly due to hardwork. When I went to Solukhumbu recently, I was so impressed with the region above Lukla that I told about it to everybody in my village. On the other hand, a villager of mine who went to Janakpur to work writes how ‘big’ Janakpur’s mosquitoes are, and how difficult it is to go to cyber cafe and write a brief email to me.
Terai has problems, issues, and it is time educated and brave Teraibasis take those issues courageously. Letting people like Goit, or Nidhi or Jwala Singh hijack these issues does no one good, prolongs the pain of Terai, and is harmful to the whole nation. It is important first to recognize that there are no constitutional discriminations against Terai anymore, and that we must work peacefully to break the remaining barriers.

Well, on the surface, this argument looks innocent, but he is how neocons look like. These people often are Pahade hill “Hindu” men, but sometimes people from other groups play honarary roles. Lets look at Chhatra Bahadur’s two arguments: Economic and Cultural.
Economic: He (almost always neocons are He; so I am reasonably sure that the author is a he) thinks that Nepal’s poor are lazy. Those who “work hard” can achieve their “dreams.” A few months ago (weeks before the April movement), Karna Shakya wrote exactly the same lines in one of Nepal’s prominient English newspapers. He was in the nutshell claiming that Nepal’s lazy are envious of Nepal’s rich and powerful like himself. The people who were protesting were lazy folks who did not want to work and earn! A question to Chhatra Bahadurs and Karna Shakyas is: Have you travelled Nepal a little bit? Have you seen that millions of Nepalis toil in their “farm” lands for 18 hrs a day yet can not afford education to their kids? Have you heard that sons and daughters of the Dalit are not treated (by their teachers and friends) with dignity in schools (Just note the recent Baglung incident, how a Dalit woman was evicted from a rented house).? Is Karna Shakyas, ironically a tourism entrepreuner, aware of the fact that the life of “Himalayan porters” is not easy, but it enriches Karna Shakyas enormously?
Culture: Chhatra Bahadur is no less than a racist in his view of a Nepali “nation.” Let’s look at his one or two of yardsticks of Nepali nationalism. He not only is finding fault with the Madhises for not producing enough “doctors” and “engineers” (which perhaps is patently false; check the list of Madhise engineers and doctors in appropriate departments (like the NMC, irrigation, road and water supply departments. Think also about the “BSC” high teachers until very recently), he also thinks that the Madhises are a “dirty people.” More pernecious is the fact that he constrasts the “clean” Sherpas with the “dirty” Madhises (What about the Tamangs of Rasuwa, Chhatra Bahadur?). He is implying that the “Nepalis nation” should be constructed around “cleaniness” (Faultlessly, the same idea the Europeans made when they colanized the world); the dirty should learn to keep themselves clean or else….? Chhatra Bahadur is clueless about cultural ispirations of the people and the dangerous part of his “insight” is that his mind is full of colonizers’ logics. How can we expect the emergence of a genuine Nepali nation if the expertise of Chhatra Bahadurs prevails?
The lesson: Beware of Nepal’s neocons particularly at this time of transition. Extremists like the Maoists and others are nothing compared to Chhatra Bahadurs since they come in guise of “expert” views.
Yes, it’s time for these failed politicians to abandon their idealisms and let peace prevail at least for the time being.
I am a Newar and I think it is legitimate that Terai and Valley people demand at least some respect. For example, the Newars lost the court battle to make Newari an official language in the Valley Metropolitan offices. I think this is quite unfortunate but we have to live with it. Even close friends who are not Newars defend the decision saying that there are so many non-Newars in the valley that it would do harm to them to have Newari as an official language.
I think that the more diversity and languages you promote, the more jobs you create and the more ‘civilized’ you become and in the not-so-long term promoting different cultures will result in a happier citizen population.
The Terai people are demanding that the ‘pahadis’ don’t come to their place as bosses and officers be appointed from their own community, and at least a significant portion of the revenue collected from Terai be invested back in the region. I think these are legitimate demands and to brush them aside would be to aleinate a significant and important part of our country.
If things continue like this, I think the Terai people will feel that they are better off if they break off from Nepal and perhaps join India.
I think it is best that history not be invoked in these discussions. As is, the Terai and Newar people (and perhaps others) provide a rich cultural diversity and identity for the nation, and allowing them to florish will provide an enviable piece of cultural real-state in this small region of the Himalayas.
Providing language and cultural/religious freedoms for the different groups will keep the radicals who want a separate state at bay.
The Nepal Watcher: I agree with your analysis. Chatra Bahadur (and many people like him) is brushing real issues under the carpet.
If and when the people of each and every district start electing their own CDOs and form District Parliaments the development of Nepal will not be far cry. As long as Sighadarbar is appointing CDOs development is just poltical talk.
Terai Mukti Andolan is nothing new. It was going on since King Tribhuwan came back from India in 1951. Because most of the land owners were Ranas, Bahuns and Chhetries from the Hills Andolan never saw the day light. Present Andolan will not succeed because the population is so much mixed than ever before. Same way Newars from Kathmandu Valley will never succeed evicting all the Non-Newars.
It is my opinion that the non-Newars will actually benefit if they provide the Newars with a little more language and cultural freedoms, in the form of a distict identity.
I don’t think anybody wants to evict anybody.
In this front, at least the Maoists are making an effort to see that the local people are represented by one of their own.

Yes. Iam an avid trekker, and has been to almost everywhere. I have also put my money where my mouth is, and provided scholarships to marginalized people. I am also one of those very few people who have fought with my own classmate because he once said ‘ta’ to a ‘madhesi chana-chatpate seller’ who was a lot older than my classmate.
On the other hand, tell me a (developing) country where doing a manual labor can provide you a comfortable life? That’s why you have to be intelligent to have a comfortable life.

My parents. Of course, not 18 hours, but they worked quite a lot. But it is nonsensical to say they couldn’t afford to their kids. We went to a sarkari school in chitwan, and the tuition was less than twenty rupees per month, and that too they waived to almost 20% of the students.
I mean, don’t make it sound personal. I can go on and on refuting your nonsensical counterarguments.
My point is simple: to talk about freedom for Terai is nonsense, specially when it comes from failed politicians. There are valid concerns, but it takes time to erase all symptoms of discrimination. In our country, the discrimination is so deep rooted that it exists within Newars, within Madhesis and within Brahmins also.

Did I disparage the Newar culture? No. I do support making Newar one of the official languages. In fact, I felt that it was one already when I went to get some money in Gorkhapatra sansthan, and the assistant there was talking in Newari with all the local visitors. It was unfortunate that the court didn’t allow that, but we all know the court is packed with bad guys.
But I disagree when people say Prithvi dismantled the flourishing culture of KTM, Newars are not treated equally etc. KTM was decaying by the time Prithvi attacked it. One way or other, the valley was going to be ruled by others since British were eyeing it anyway. Newars are treated with respect now, they are rich and educated and no one can disparage them. The only reason why Padma Ratna et al speak stridently against others, and try to perpetuate hatred is because they are now groping to find popular support that they no longer have.
And yes, it also depends on what you want to look at when you grow up.
When I was in KTM to study ISc, my ghar-bheti was a Syangjali Bahun in Samakhusi, a real bitch. But then there was a Newari old lady from a rich and powerful family who treated me so kindly, and whenever I went their house, gave me one of the most sumptuous foods I have ever eaten.
Our country’s politics is more complicated than this Bahun Vs Newar, Pahadi Vs Madhesi reductionism suggests. In any case, whatever complaints are there, they should come from honest and popular politicians, not from the opportunists who resort to the communal politics as a mean to further their own personal ambition. Under these people, the only direction Nepal will take is towards more chaos, more mayhem, and less solution.

It is nonsensical and farcical to bring forth your personal experience to make points against the experience of millions in Nepal. It is even more farcical to claim that you “offer” scholarship to Nepal’s poor so that you understand the poor. You are no different than the politicians you are decrying against. Let Nepalis be poor and you guys keep on rescuing them by “offering scholarship,” right?
What is intelligence, Chhatra Bahadur? To me this is an example of a total bankrupt mind that says “That’s why you have to be intelligent to have a comfortable life.” Why are crying against Nidhi or Jaya Prakash? Are not they intelligent (according to your own view) enough to spin new issues or master corruption skills? Or even should we decry that Charles Shovraj killed many people “intelligently?”
To me, the questions of ethics and dignity comes with “intellegence.” If you do not believe in ethics and human dignity, then it’s a different matter; we can not communicate. Do not make farcial arguments that people in Nepal should not have a comfortable life because that’s the story of “developing” countries. Or all problems in Nepal are “natural” becuase they also appear in developing countries.
Your argument is very clear. You are essentially saying that the problems of the people of Nepal are personal and individualistic. Hard working and sane people like you have succeeded and those who have “failed” are lazy, right? You are also saying that cultural aspirations (forget Terai “freedom” for a while now) of the people are nothing. How can you help Nepal in Terai or other issues? Stop your racist rants that compare sanitary practices of “Madhesis” and “Sherpas.” Stop blaming the poor for being poor.

You asked a few deeply personal questions, such as whether I have seen any person working hard, whether I have been to hinterlands, and so on. I replied by furnishing you with my personal experience, since I thought you might revise your views after reading about my own background as an avid pro-Terai, pro-justice person, who had fought with his own classmates. Here is what I think to be the reality: discrimination exists, but dissolution of state is not solution, nor is persecution of Pahadiyas in Terai. There is no monolithic Terai region anymore, interspersed as it is by heavy Pahadiya population. And lest you accuse Pahadiya of incursion in Terai, region such as Chitwan were forest earlier, and were also part of Pahadiya kingdom (chitwan was part of Tanahu) earlier. Under Shah and Rana rulers, we all sufferred, irrespective of our castes, and other identity. To monopolize these sufferings by one community is mistake. To say that under Shah/Rana, there was systematical oppression of people of Terai or Newars by Pahadiya is wrong. My parents suffered as much as yours. I am the first generation in my lineage to go to school, FYI, so keep your elitism accusation with you.
Let’s talk sense. Hurling invectives to people who are trying to make arguments doesn’t help our communal unity. Even if Terai separates, we both will prosper only if we live in amity. We will need each other eternally, as we will always be neighbors. Don’t manufacture accusations just to whip up population, and garner a few votes, or a few seats in parliament.
People like Chattra Bahadur who make sweeping assumptions and comments about the ‘other’ people of Nepal (i.e. not the daura suruwal, dhaka topi wearers) are the bane of this country because unfortunately these idiots seem to dominate the power corridors of govt.

I am indeed not sure if I could have done any better, although I believe I consider myself highly intelligent as well. You title, if not pretentious is certainly bold. Yes, I fully agree with you, what the hell is wrong with these madhesis and newaris? really? The newars are one of the richest community in Nepal (not that government helped them become rich but rather because they just happened to be where the action was good) and they are not satisfied? Well, scre*w them! As for Tuladhar and Sthapit, the less we say the better, those losers, how dare they try to remain relevant by espousing communal violence by demanding for an autonomy and to have newari as an official language as well. Really, newari language is useless, and one can reason that it is in fact inferior to Khas Nepali, which happens to be widely practiced by people of Brahmin descent and is therefore “PURE”.
As for Madhesis, they are dirty and filthy. All they do in Kathmandu is to sell vegetables and if that is not there, they become barbers ( I certainly have my favorite Madhesi barber I frequent to, and having spend countless hours chatting with him during my hair cuts, I firmly believe he is not capable of anything but to be a barber). Can you even imagine this idiot running an autonomous state? Who are we kidding? If any so called educated & realist Madhesi people support JTMM, then it must be because their certificates and degrees were bought straight from Bihar (for all I care they could have build a freaking bathroom with that money, at least they wouldn’t stink as much). Nepal’s poor/lazy do not know how do educate people and make them intelligent, probably dumb parents give birth to dumb kids! How many damn Madheses died for their cause? Maoists took on their cause; Maoists – mostly Pahadis male fought for their cause; Maoist Pahadi males led them into the interim parliament.
Give it a rest with the blame game for your deficiency that springs up from many years of colonial subjugation – oh no, not by the Pahadis, but from the British that imprinted on the psyche of ‘oppressed’ that you are inherently inferior. Pahadis broke out of that mentality long before; I suggest ‘others’ do the same and make themselves relevant.
Further, from the earlier post, the likes of you, Mr. The Nepal Watcher, come along and justify secession for YOUR personal benefit, for the benefit that such would catapult you into the limelight of wherever you wish to see yourself. Damn it Freeyoursense, you certainly know how to hit the bulls eye blindfolded! Being a Pahade bahun, I am sick and tired of hearing this Madhesis, Janjatis, Dalits blaming us for their incompetence. I mean how low can these imbecile pigs stoop? Yes, I am a Pahade bahun and I am proud to say it! Anyone got any problems? If it wasn’t for us doing the civil work, the political work and even the pujas, Nepal as a nation wouldn’t be where it is now. After all our contributions they blame us for being corrupt, communal, a bigot and heck even brahmin chauvinists! As you have rightly pointed out, even the Maoist revolution is led by our bahun brother and to top it all, they blame us for exploiting the social issues for our selfish need by using Madhesis, Janjatis and Dalits as the PLA fighters.
Sometimes I wonder where these people would be if it wasn’t for highly gifted, intelligent and resourceful bahuns like us. Lets face it, if it was not for us leading the past THREE andolans, the incompetent non-bahun King would still be here. Just look at all we have accomplished after 1990. The nation has never been so vibrant and peaceful and the country actually improved in its poverty ranking. Now it is not so hard to find it from the bottom unlike before. Nepal can boast of the most successful communist revolution of 21st century, all thanks to us. We only had 14,000 people killed, of course most of those people were incompetent Madhesis, Janjatis and Dalits. I cannot even imagine how large the death tolls would have been if it weren’t for our bahun brothers who as we all expected were smart enough to know when to dodge the bullet by ducking their head or pretending to be dead at the right moment.
For a true democracy to function, the country needs competent leaders like us. We need to tell and teach these buffoons exactly when to piss and take a sh*it! We need to tell them that liberty is best practiced by obeying rules and laws set as per our vision ONLY. Strike cripples life in Terai
Kantipur Report
KATHMANDU, Jan 16 – The Terai strike called by the Madheshi People’s Rights Forum (MPRF) to protest the interim constitution promulgated yesterday crippled life across the region on Tuesday. The forum has been asserting that the interim constitution is flawed and does not address the issues of Terai people including their demand for a separate federal democratic.
Meanwhile, Biratnagar and Morang areas remained tense today following the vandalism of some parked vehicles by forum members that sparked a clash between MPRF and transport workers yesterday.
Over 6 people were injured in the incident that has left tensions high between the forum members and transport workers today as well.
According to sources, thoroughfares in Biratnagar saw a substantial police presence to thwart any unpleasant activities.
Likewise, in Birgunj, activists of the forum vandalised a statute of the late King Mahendra inside the city hall.
Earlier last night, forum activists held torch rallies including in Siraha, Bara, Biratnagar and Birgunj.
Similarly, Sunsari, Morang, Siraha, Dhanusha, Saptari, Mahottari, Bara, Parsa and Rautahat districts in the eastern Terai and Banke in the west were highly affected by the strike. Most roads and shops have been closed down while traffic has ground to a halt in the Mahendra Highway.
Other Major towns like Janakpur, Itahari and Nepalgunj too remained shut down.
Demanding the mixed electoral system based on the 205 electoral constituencies be scrapped, the forum had announced the strike proposing the Constituent Assembly elections be held through a proportionate electoral system to represent the marginalized groups including Madheshis, Janajatis, Women, Dalits and other minority groups.

There are so many lame things going on in this thread about what should happen in Nepal I simply don’t want to respond to them. But I really feel that I should say something.
I like to say that I am a pahade Bahun from Western Hills of Nepal. I don’t support the current system. these are the changes that I would like to see:
a) Give more powers to the local authority. Local authority should be allowed to carry certain functions on their own. These functions includes following: a) Appoint and run all the local administration offices except that of security. They should be allowed to run local administration in their own language in addition to the Nepali. Run office mean that They should accept applications written in the local language and should publish/give notices in Nepali/Local language.
b)Except for the case of national security and integrity as well as state of emergency Central government should not intervene the local authority. but local authority must be abided by the democratic principles – that is respect for human rights and minority rights of national or regional minority.
This will certainly need a lot of rephrasing to protect the national integrity and security as well give more autonomy to the local authority. This will certainly solve most of the demands of the communal groups. Including that of the madhises, newars, rai-limbu, as well as mine.
let me tell you as a Western Bahun in Nepal – some of the problem faced by us because they are mostly taken to be non-existent. I have noticed the discrimination as being a Western bahun – “purbeli ra kumai bahun”. Other discrimination is obviously it is far away from Ktm and most of the facilities are not there. I was one of the 4 people from my villages to have the opportunity to go to college.
As per hardworking and lazy is concern, I think the proportional amount of opportunity available as well as luck matters a lot. Einstein was not accepted into college. Don’t tell me he was not hardworking. Hardwork is an essential quality but not the only one. Do you guys think that Paras was hardworking that is why he is enjoying his life? Fu*ck no. There are hundreds of other example that a non-hardworking individual have achieved so much of luxury that a genuinely hardworking have not achieved.
I hope we all get regional semi-autonomy as well as national pride. How think you guys?

After reading about some people claiming that Madhes should be united with India, I felt shocked, and dismayed. It is one thing to talk about independence, it is entirely another thing to say it should be joined with India.
I spend sometimes trying to figure out the last time Madhesh was independent and how its independence lost. By Madhesh, here I am going to focus on Mithila, because that’s where Goit and his ilks are active. I am not sure they have any support in the west.
Before Shahs, of course, Sen ruled Mithila. But when was Mithila free the last time? Well, NanyaDev, a Karnat dynasty king, had established the kingdom of Tirhut in 1907. A vast kingdom it was, with its capital being in Simraungadh.
Throughout its life, Mithila’s freedom was threatened by rulers of calcutta and Delhi. Mithila always had better relation with the kings of KTM. For example, Jaya Sthiti Malla , credited to have started caste system in KTM, stratified KTM’s society based on the advice of Mithila’s Jha Brahmins.
Nanyadev’s progeny ruled Tirhut for 229 years, but in 1326, Gayasuddin Tuglak attacked the kingdom. The king, Harisingh Deva, and queen Dewal Devi, fled the kingdom and went to Sindhuli. After two years, Hari Singh Dev died. The queen, who was later robbed by her own courtiers, then went to Bhaktapur, where the king Rudra Malla welcomed her. The queen, Dewal Devi, later became very influential in KTM. Her son, Jagatsingh, married with the daughter of Rudra Malla. The daughter of Jagat Singh, Rajalla Devi, was then married with KTM’s famous ruler, Jayasthiti Malla.
Vidhyapati, the famous bard of Mithila, had also had enormous influence in KTM. He was in Mithila when a puppet king of Bengal Sultan, Ganesh, was ruling in Mithila, but even he was murdered by a Moslem ( Malik Aslam). Later, the king of Jodhpur, Ibrahim Shah, helped the ousted prince, Shivasingh, to defeat Malik Aslam. But for his help, Shiva Singh had to pay so enormous tax that once Ibrahim arrested Shiva Singh and made a captive in Jodhpur.
Mithila became so ungoverned, under the grinding oppression of foreign rulers of south, that most of the works of poet Vidhyapati provides description of that.
This provides some evidence: that there was never a kingdom Madhesh, that Mithila was a friend of Kathmandu, Malla kings were also progeny of Mithila kings of the past, that Mithila suffered a lot from the hands of southern rulers. Hopefully, it clarifies some of the confusion regarding those who are clueless about their own past.

I am really not interested to talk to you, despite your praise of my grasp of history. Your suggestion that Terai should be a part of India is just a repugnant. It is one thing to ask for autonomy, or a way to rule Nepal, as every citizen of Nepal should be legitimate contender to be the head of state of the country, but it is entirely another thing to disparage poors of Nepal, and seek the unity with India.
I am not antiIndian, I am a great fan of India and its cricket team etc. Our border with India is a classic example of mutual respect, trust and amity despite our occasional problems. We respect each other. Our people go to India and learn. India is making progress, and I am very proud of it also. A lot of my friends are toppers of IIT, and they love Nepal too. I don’t know who people like you, who think they should take away a chunk of Nepal and mix it with India , are trying to please. If you have grievance against discrimination, then your best strategy is to try to be your own boss, rather than changing the boss.
In any case, like I said, There was never a country named Madhesh. There is as much difference between Maithili people of east and Tharus of west, as is between Maithili and Newars. Incidentally, I had to convince my Tharu friends in Chitwan not to tell the Madhesi vendors ‘deshi’, and when some people daydream about making a country out of Terai, that incorporates Tharus/Satar/Dhimal/Maithili/Bhojpuri, all I see is a creation of a country which would look like Nepal of present days; how it would solve the problem is beyond my comprehension. Oh, yes, it will have more than 50% Maithili/Bhojpuri speaking population, as opposed to Nepali speaking population of today, but the problems will be there.
But, oh, well, what do you care about history, or future? You seem to be pipedreaming anyway.
Suddenly we find six different groups claiming to be the true representatives of Madhesi – two Sadbhawana, two JTMM, Madhesi Mukti Morcha, Madehsi Janadhikar Forum. Every political party has equal number of Madhesi leaders. All of them vying for supremacy and to which group will Madhesis believe? Hard to tell because it is already fragmented movement. And nothing concrete is like to come out as a result. United janjati, Madhesi and Dalits is good political slogan. Sad but true…
To All Nepalese
As we move ahead in the history of Nepal I am very proud of what has happened with regards to the peoples movement. I am also very proud of certain groups of people ie. the so called lower class for their struggle and sacarifice to the movement. I am ashamed of our current king after seeing his absolute lack of any leadership since taking power. I don’t think anyone disagrees that our forefather had a vision for Nepal and that vision has never been releasized. It brought tears to my eyes when I learned that Prithivi Jayanti was no more and his statue was partially distroyed. All relatively intellegent people know that Nepal is in serious need of a Leader. A plane highacker is not a good leader; one can only imagine what his vision must be, infact it is obvious seeing the state that Nepal currently is in. The current King certainly proved his inability and a complete lack of any leadership. And finally the Moaist and there communism idealogy; are we living in the 21 century or the 1st?
Every dog has it’s day. The Royals had there days and now the Moasist and the sissy 7 parties will have theirs. But in the midst of it all Nepal will move no where and the general public will always have to bear the burden. It’s not just my view but inevitable; trust me; if not just look back 10,15,20 years has anything changed? If there is anyone who is optomistic, point me to a fact to lead me to believe things will be different. Anyone who is reading this might ask me so what do we do? Who do we move forward and truly put Nepal in the global map? Let me tell you one thing: That day will come. The Royal dug themselves into a huge hole with years in power; like wise it is time now for the moaist and the sissy parties to do the same and dig their hole which I must say they are doing a very good job of doing. Any major change requires time and proper planning which is precisely what I have begun doing as I write what is on my mind today. I am ashamed to say this but it’s a necessity and the first and foremost thing that needs to happen is the eradication of all Bahuns from our beloved country! This is 50% of Nepals problem solved. If there is anyone who disagrees with me on this I would encourage you to do something with the current leadership which surprisingly seems to consist of this group of people and really move Nepal in the right direction and to do the right thing for Nepal OR plan your resistance against this inevitable future.
I live everyday dreaming of Nepal that is developed; prosperous and peaceful. A dream that is not impossible; infact very easy to attain given the patriotic sentiment that we so strongly believe and hold. Please feel free to email me with any views, questions or concerns. Nepali haru; Don’t be fooled by this bogus Peoples Movement/ Andolan. Prepare yourself for a real transformation of Nepal which you all have heard of but never known. If a gang of 100-500 committed people( remember rest of the moaist were forced to join) with Bharuwa Bandook’s can be a force and be able to put themselves in parliament; I don’t think it would be hard for a group of same number of people with automatic weapons to be a force to reckon with right? Right? Right? Right? Maoist’s have proved in front of my eyes that that it is possible.
