I don’t understand in this day and age why PRESS is depending upon Government Hand Out (ADVERTISING)? I think PRESS should depend upon people. As long as people read, listen and watch PRESS will survive.
Some journalists in Nepal are much opinionated than professionals. They either extremely support maoists or the King Gyanendra. Journalists should neither be royalists nor be maoists-their job is to tell the truth. Some media houses have played the role as if they are the political headquarters rumoring mediated propaganda. Editorials should not give any verdict whether there should be the election of constitutional assembly first or restoration of parliament. I think Professional media should not give politically biased opinions. However, it should always advocate democracy,freedom of speech and of press.

I have never said nepali nationalism is well protected within the walls of royal palace. i have just said that we need the monarchy just because it is getting unique but with some reforms. I will be sad if people abolish the monarhcy but not die for it. life goes.
for India its almost 60 years of independence but still political and economic turmoil continues. We will also survive without Royality, or Idnain assistance or Maoits or the Political Parties. This is life which continue to survive even in miseries.

Their economy grew by 10%, how much did it really for a person? It comes out to be less than 50 Dollars per year? Even for making a small bridge, we need foreign aid. US and the west just consult India before making Nepal Policy. We love India so much so that if Indian films/songs are not available for a single day, we feel starved. We no longer pride ourselves with TOPI and GUNYU CHOLO, we go for Daura Surwal (See our boot lickers politicians), Kurta Surwal and Sari. Many people are killed everyday in Nepal, most of the times by the persons who have guns and are under the so-called almighty ‘Nepal government’. One person was killed in Tatopani and the family member of the person who was killed was paid a million Rupees,It is right, the family must be paid, but, the surprising thing is that why the so-called almighty ‘Nepal government’ pays that money. Why not the criminal in camouflaged outfit is made to pay the crime he did. His property must be conficated and auctioned and the money raised from that should be given to the family upon whom the crime been done. You can only control the trigger-happy ……. in this way.
