Students took out a rally protesting recent price hike in petrochemical products and autocratic monarchy. The rally that started from Amrit Science College (ASCOLL) turned into a corner meeting in Ason and was addressed by a few student leaders who condemned the monarchy and the price hike at the same time. Protesting for the release of Madhav Nepal
Pradeep Giri and Bimalendra Nidhi were released by there are still many who are still inside jail or under house like CPN UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal. And this man was one of many protesting the house arrest of Nepal today in front of the communist leader’s house in Koteshwor.

Nepalisong – good point. I too cannot understand why these people are making a fool of themslves. These students, instead of focusing on their studies are getting wraped in policts. At the end the leaders are all selfish and won’t care about them.
I don’t understand why people tend to suppress others from doing what they want. At least all the individuals should be allowed to act in the most rational way they can think of.

Nice point in the end the politicians will not be doin anything for them. By the way when did politics not be a part of student life in Nepal. I study in a private college now but I belong to the generation whose gave S.L.C with the centres guarded by the army, had the 8th grade extended to 14 mths due to Maoist insurgency. And by the way wht else can students do if not protesting when they are the ones to suffer the most because of the price hikes..they are there at least voicing the woes of millions..intiatin a discussion among the privedged ones ( in the sense u are usin the Internet in the first place) rather than talkin nuisance saying why students are in politics..there can be a huge debate about it but politics isn’t only the fight for post.
As most of my generation have understood… It is the way we live, the things we eat, the way we travel .just everything so if we( the so called aware mass) just keep mum then who will ever do anything for us…N why does everyone say why are the students not protesting against the Nepal banda, why not let us organize one against it from our own locality..it is so easy doin that..Why not ask ourself the reason for being so passive in the first place?
And Makunes and Girijas yeah we haven’t had the priviledge of patting them on the back for anything great but now is the time when every single Nepali like us should at least agree on the fact that the 12 yrs of functioning democracy (again debatable) was a lot better even with its innumerous setbacks than wht is goin on now.and it is the political forces that can bring it back..let us argue later make the politicians ask forgiveness for their share of deeds in the failure of this nation . (even cheering for them on their release though looks silly is a victory of Independent Judiciary).
Come on we are not gettin anywhere unless all of us agree on Bringing back that democracy here..Unity I think is the need of the hour.
Failure on the part of the political parties in 1990 to punish the culprits of the Panchayati System is what has taken Madhav Nepal ino a house arrest.
