Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and Mohan Baidya at loggerheads

The central committee (CC) meeting of CPN (Maoist) held on Monday (yesterday) saw party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and leader of the hard-line faction Mohan Baidya present separate political documents. Prime Minister Dahal presented three options on republicanism – the federal democratic republic, people’s republic and transitional republic. It is the first time the party chairman has presented the idea of “transitional republic,” which, some analysts said, could be a middle-of-the road approach. Dahal has now offered to bring together the two factions – proponents of People’s Republic and Democratic Republic.
“The paper has offered options on what model of republicanism the party should adopt,” he told reporters after the CC meet on Monday. “The current debate is between People’s Republic and Transitional Republic.” He didn’t explain what transitional republic meant.
Supporters of Baidya, who leads the People’s Republic faction, said the chairman’s paper lacked clarity according to a source. Baidya’s paper asserts there is no alternative to “immediate adoption of People’s Republic”. The CC will resume deliberations on the reports only on Nov. 18, a day before the party’s national cadres’ meeting, which is expected to decide what form of republic the party will ultimately adopt.
There was a rift within the party leadership over which agenda to adopt – People’s Republic or Democratic Republic’. Maoist Chairman Dahal’s document presented three models to choose from as the party’s future strategy. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the party’s Central Committee leader, told the Kathmandu Post that Dahal and Baidya presented two political documents with minor changes to the previous document presented to the CC a month ago. “Discussions will be held tomorrow (Nov. 18).”
Dahal’s document presented on Monday was a written version of his declaration made a month ago at the last CC meeting held in Balaju, Kathmandu. The report had come under heavy criticism from Baidya’s faction for failing to voice unambiguous support for People’s Republic.

A transitional republic is like a royal republic- the one we had before the declaration of may 28th. By the way, we are not really a federal democratic republic, are we? We are in no ways a federation.

Gradual change is best now there is pressure upon private schools who already have nothing….At the same time if there is no radicality there is no hope of change. There are no really ruling classes the status quo of the system is fully destroyed.

Mohan Baidhya aka Kiran is delusional. So is Puspa Kamal Dahal aka Prachanda. And, so are the media in hyping this issue.
This is just a party’s central committee meeting which is trying to set out the future stance of the party. The party can set it as whatever they want.. republic or people’s republic or trasitional republic or whatever republic.
It’s not like they are single handedly writing the new constitution of the country. They are not developing the manuscript of the country’s future on their own.
It’s not like they are announcing the country as “People’s Republic of Nepal” or “Transitional Republic of Nepal” after they wrap up their CC meeting. Nor can they do that.
A single CPN Maoist party is not equal to Nepal. There’s a CA elected by the people to do that (even though those 601 assholes have being doing nothing but scratching their arse).

I dont think Girija and Prachanda are alone corrupt in Nepal. Surya Bahandur Thapa, Marich Man Shrestha were also corrupt. Every politicians are royals are corrupt in Nepal. Our problem wont be solved if we we continue to raise arms. Only solution is reconciliation. We have to find a middle way where every person can be accommodated. You and I should be ready to give something to others and others should also be ready to give something to others…
From a distance but I am coming back forever in Nepal I see we have a long way to go…..
Why don’t we put Prachandra on Kantipur once a week or more like instead of King? So that the problems of crime calm down and people cooperate. All are nepalese who have been divided for no reason at all. Let harmony return in the former Kingdom. It is quite enough why all should have to run for their lives? Face the problems deal with it. Sarkozy was chosen as stron man, Angela Merkel for nice business and Obama for justice. I think Prachandra for all those reasons so let him work both extremes and learn to listen to each other with patience as in democracy.

Even if the party splits over this the continuing fear of going underground cannot terrorize a nation forever. Many parties split the socialist party in France has people that do not want Segolene Royal to be the leaderess.

None of the leaders mentioned by whateverkathmandu ran a bloody insurgency killing 13,000 people and they also didn’t win elections under a functional semi-military outfit known as YCL and they didn’t use terror tactics to put the country under constant fear. Pushpa Kamal Dahal has blood in his hands and the blood stains are getting bigger, not drying away. Like it or not Maoists is a terrorist outfit and sadly, in order to counter them and fight for survival, other political parties are also turning into terrorists through their youth outfits. maoists are making this country a lawless country and in the process they are using the tax we paid to officially finance their terror tactics. If we want warlords to run this country, then we should voice for “long live prachanda” but then we don’t want that, do we? So, we need to put togehter another uprising, this time a real people’s struggle (not bloody struggle of 30,000 people termed as People’s war) and fight terrorism and communism in Nepal.

The Maoist’s have long been denying fraction in their party. But now we clearly see that there seems to be some sort of cold war going between some major fractions of this big party.
There are many things to be sorted out in this main party of Nepal. They’ve got to change their image in front of the general public of Nepal.
Hope they sort out their matters internally and we see some good changes… and soon.

Remember Hitler and his goons?Well Prachanda has his YCLs. The only difference is that Hitler did not permit the goons to be integrated into the German Army; whereas in Nepal, the PLA will be amalgemated into the Nepal Army. Good news for the otherv political parties!

I gave my views on how the maoists were pushing the country towards hell and a blog that says that it stands for freedom of speech has slashed my comment out.
